I stayed one night whilst passing through and you need to be a seasoned traveller to accept this hotel. It looks impressive from the exterior and in the lobby but my room was tired, the bedding smelt foisty and stale and the A/C didn't work. The carpets were marked as were the walls and the bathroom looked like a bad... More

Firstly I would like to admit that I have a fondness of soviet history and the general culture of Eastern Europe, so I was particularly excited about my stay at the Lybid. I stayed here for 7 nights this August while travelling home from China and had a very pleasant experience here. Upon arrival to the hotel I was greeted... More

I can't fault this hotel, it has all the basics including air conditioning and is relatively cheap (depending on the exchange rates!). It's only a short 15 minute walk from the main train & metro station. All the staff spoke English and were very helpful. Free WiFi was fine and the view from the 17th floor was good.

Stayed here for three nights and had a decent stay. Very dated rooms and had some bugs in the bathroom. Very nice and helpful staff. We had dinner twice and both meals were good. Breakfast was ok. A lot of odd items... Did get some eggs and toast.

I was there last summer for one night. Hotel is very cheap and very good. Only one thing, in our room wifi signal was bad and we need to go to living room to connect. Besides that 5 stars! If I cime back in Kiev sometime for sure coming here! :)

Rooms are ok for this price. Terrible staff on reception, conditioner was not working. One evening I tried to order food from my room - no chance, nobody answered phone. Breakfasts are great. Hotel is located near city center and railway station - 15 minutes by walk to get to Khreshatik.

Hotel Lybid is a right choice for business traveller, who wants to be close to the city center, but has a lot of travel in the city during the business day. The building was built by the occasion of the Olympic Games in Moscow. The olympic symbol : Mishka-bear statue still meets the hotel guests at the entrance. The huge... More

This large hotel is near the railway station in Kiev. The receptionists speak some English and are quite helpful. The rooms are plain, quite small, but adequate with basic facilities. There are seating areas in the lobby (which is the only place you can get wifi reception). They do not supply bottled water but there is a water dispenser in... More

This place is not horrible. Just overpriced for what you get. Room quality is sub par. Fan and air con didn't work, which forces you to open your windows to a very busy Kiev intersection. I stayed here for a week. While the hotel is central (near some good shopping and a food market, restaurants, etc), the price you pay... More

Not such a bad hotel, but... If the smell of stale cigarette smoke bothers you (maybe this is smoke from past decades, as no one seems to be smoking in public areas at least), you may want to give the Lybid a pass. The hotel is also more or less attached to a gentleman's club, which means that the bar... More
