This is a soviet style hotel which still holds some past habits such as a breakfast on order... Very nice interior for communist style fans. This time was too hot in the hotel and also 5 stairs to the lift are not pleasant. In any case I can recommend

This hotel was created and builded by soviet authority for soviet party leaders who visited Kiev. So in soviet time it was the best hotel in the city with a limited excess of regular people. Staff was selected accordingly, rooms good equipped, location is premium (governmental quarter). The main advantage of this hotel is its restaurant. It serves all traditional... More

I stayed here due to the location and excellent price. For those things I wasn't disappointed. Wifi was excellent. The room was huge which wasn't expected and the bed was comfortable although the bedding looked to be in the style of Soviet times. In fact - the whole decor throughout the hotel reminds you of Soviet times - modernisation would... More

Checking in at around 11pm so the process is quite fast though the reception staffs are liked the weather outside. The suite is very spacious, and I guess I could have booked the normal room without feeling claustrophobic. There is an astray on the coffee table which is quite strange as there is a sign on the cabinet saying "no... More

Booked a junior suite was upgraded to a very large king suite. One of the few hotels where suite means suite. perfect location, great nhood, easy walk to main entertainment areas. will stay again. also great value for Euro or USD travelers.

Stayed here in August 2015, in a junior suite. The room is really clean and comfortable with a good mattress soft pillows large lounge/work area in suite, good shower. I found staff very friendly. The decor is quite over the top, cross between Louis XIV and Saddam, but that's what you came for, right? The breakfast is quite extensive though... More

I was expecting an old Soviet style hotel looking from the outside of this historical building. In the end it was, but completely renovated and refurbished remaining loyal to the previous style. The reception area was majestic. I stayed in a non-smoking junior suite which was quite spacious and luxurious. Despite the good standards, the price was very reasonable. The... More

The architecture has a touch of timeless class and elegance and my room a nice view of the illuminated roof of the parliament building. Makes it a really interesting place for someone, who likes classic hotels and creates a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. The level of cleanliness and comfort astonished me for the reasonable price. It is bit further away... More

As others have said the hotel is dated to USSR times, and the room was equally dated and had a VERY strong smoke smell to it. So much so, my clothes smelled like smoke. One the up side, the water pressure in the shower was excellent and its location is close to the Rada.

I don't recommend this hotel to anyone American or European unless you just want a cheap place to stay. It was chosen for location but ended up being no better or closer than others I've stayed before like Hyatt or Hilton for where we needed to be. It is close to a nice park for walking and/or running and walking... More
