Just a note for anyone thinking of booking here in the first half of 2013. We'd booked a room for a stay in July 2013 but received an email in January saying that the hotel would be closing temporarily for reconstruction as of 1 February. No reopening date was given, but as the location is excellent and the building likely... More

Our room on the third floor was spacious with high ceilings and comfortable furnishings and very quiet. Reception always had staff that spoke English and were helpful in recommending restaurants and places to see. Breakfast each morning was good and and the hotel is centrally located.

If I could sum up my stay at the Saint Petersburg it would be this: simply dire. I stayed in an unrenovated room which was a good price on the face of it. That was until I realised that I could have stayed at nicer hostels for a cheaper price. The foyer of the hotel was dingy which boded well... More

Difficult to find more central place, next to the Bessarabian market. But whereas all the other hotels in the center are overpriced for so-called renovated rooms, this one, a bit hard to find on the net and in the reality too, offers the charm of usual soviet old styles hotels. The building is beautiful, the rooms are a bit old.... More

for st petersburg hotel ....location and price (around 65 dollars per night)is the best of this place, close walking distance to main street , restaurants and shopping...(.metro system...but stay away from that transportation method...cheap but too crowd and not english signs at all)...in the underground shopping mall...hotel .has an atm at location...(they dont take american dollars) but u can use... More

Great old world style hotel, very conviently located in city center. Good rates. Best to have native speaker make your reservation.

I stayed in the St Petersburg during a short break to Kiev. The location is very central, at the bottom of Taras Shevchenko BoulevardI, near the covered market. I was given an un-refurbished (old style) double room with a balcony for 365 UAH per night. There was a shared shower and toilet which were modern and cleaned throughout the day.... More
