This is apparently one of the oldest Hotels in Belgrade. It is very nicely located in the middle of Upper Dorcol, about 10 min walk from Republic Square and 5 min walk to Kalemegdan. The place has a a sort of faded glory, but is in the process of being modernised. It is not luxurious, but perfectly adequate for most... More

The guy at te recception was really not friendly... What ever, rooms are okay but a little bit gloomy (and not souunfproof at all) and the breakfast is really HORRIBLE....and do not even ask for a simple black coffe they will explain you it is not possible to change the menue... Although it was not an expensive play to stay, I have to say it was a most awful experience. the décor was from the 70s Bathroom was a disgrace the staff were not at all friendly and the breakfast well do not get me started on that subject !!!! My advise i would leave well alone unless your desperate and... More

The hotel is located in city center nearby Knez Mihailo street and fortress Kalemegdan. It is very old hotel, but renovated. Rooms are small and cold (windows are leaking). We didn't have hot water on New Year's Eve. Some staff were unkind. No bar fridge in room. Wifi on first floor is low. No shampoo or shower gel. Restaurant and... More

We booked this hotel in person and last minute, it was a small room with 2 twin beds, private bathroom, on the 5th floor. The elevator was small, but worked and we never had to wait long to use it. There was a small restaurant/bar in the lobby, and the lobby had free WiFi. There was also a money exchange... More

It was central and just a walk to the restaurants and night life. The lobby and restaurant area could have moor light and brighter colours, get a feel of post east block... Comfortable rooms but no special, quite basic, but rested well. Good value for money :)

Rooms were dirty, carpets filthy, bathroom without shower curtain and insufficient towels, and the TV's did not work. Our first room was so bad that we requested a second room, which was just as bad. The poor desk clerk acted like he rather be in jail than working at this dump. Don't go Royal unless you like punishing yourself.

In general OK. But for the status of "hotel" is not clean at all... and not modern also. We didn't have a control for the a/c... plus very bad windows! at least they changed or towels. It's totally in the city center and you can get to all the nice places around. that was really good! They have a very... More

Belgrade is somewhat short in the "affordable hotel" category and the Royal has a lot of pluses considering this fact. Most important is its location which is a few minutes walk from the main Pedestrian Street which is filled with a combination of Balkan and Mittel Europa charm. The remodeled rooms are merely average, and are furnished in a very... More
