The building itself is old and has good atmosphere, which I enjoyed. There is a small nice garden area that is not used for anything. If the garden is repaired for guests, it would be great. I stayed in private single room. Furniture in it looks just old, it should not be called “Antique”. Said that, it’s all up to... More

Yes, we have toilet paper a plenty, sorry if we missed your room. Thanks for the review. By the way, in Europe antique is from sometime in the last century but in Canada it seems anything from before WWII is ancient history. I guess we fit somewhere in between. Oh yes, we got WIFI now. More

The positive thing is that the hostel is located really near to the Gare de nord. But that's all. I am very dissapointed. The bedding is very dirty, and even somewhere was some blood. The doors could not be locked. The breakfast looks like food gone bad (be careful what do you eat there). Also, I have suspicion that the... More

Vila11 does not use voluneers for our hostel operations. Our family has a charity project we support in the countryside and any volunteers arriving in Romania stay with us fre of charge while they get their bearings. We do not believe in free labour to replace a local job. I am sorry you misunderstood my conversation about the availability of... More

This was the worst place I have ever stayed in - very uncomfortable bed all lumps and protruding metal springs, dirty bath and general lack of cleanliness (dust ,cobwebs and windows covered in pigeon mess). I was also concerned re some safety aspects - some electric sockets were hanging off the wall, there were no smoke/fire alarms or labelled emergency... More

I was in Bucharest for a tennis tournament and found that this hostel was the only place that did laundry so I went there. The family is extremely nice. People watched movies at night and I got to meet other travelers. I LOVED the breakfast. You can eat a mountain of homemade pancakes with homemade jelly. There is also fresh... More

I visited Vila 11 back in November with a friend of mine. We had arrived late one night and checked into a very bad place around the corner (we were looking for Vila 11 but had trouble finding it) and even though we were not staying there, when we finally found it the Canadian lady running the place (her name... I slept on the floor because the owner put me in a one bed room with a young man I had just met. I was awakened by construction on the street. The breakfast hours were short and too late to accommodate anybody traveling to the train station - which is further than it appears. The room had a dank smell.... More

1. We recieved very few guests in November 2011 - a married couple, two young men and a rather large spanish family of 7. I do not remember anyone else. 2. With 42 beds in the house no-one need sleep on the floor. 3. Any one not satisfied with our services is legally intitled to refuse payment and/or request a... More

We just were there sleeping for 4 nights and they are very nice poeple in a very special hotel. You feel like at home. THey don´t control the place as if it´d be a prison. You go and come feeling good. It has the taste of an authentic place for travellers, not that much for tourists.

The rooms were small, crammed, overpriced, unclean (the staff don't clean on Fridays or Saturdays?!), and extraordinarily hot. To get to the hostel, you must walk through a long, sketchy alleyway filled with broken glass and noisy stray dogs. The staff (a rude, unsociable Canadian family) were unhelpful, slow (i had to wait 35 minutes for a room to be... More

Buchurest is a city undergoing the transition to Western standards. Unfortunately stray dogs, urinating vagrants and exceptional summer heat are some of the features beyond our control and although I apologise for your discomfort I do not hold us resposible. The aspect regarding a Rude family: I have been called many things in my life but rude was never one... More

Bed was very uncomfortable, could feel the metal springs. Room was smelly & dirty & very hot. People who own it run it, & seemed uninterested in the business side. Breakfast was pancakes (which were actually really good) but not much else. Debbie (Canadian co-owner) was friendly, but liked to give out unwanted opinions on travellers personal preferences (i.e. music... More
