I’ve stayed in Bucharest many times, however, only twice at the Golden Tulip. I like to site see and explore, so I was not pleased at all. If you want to walk to anything at all and explore then do not stay here, choose a place in central Bucharest where you can walk to numerous shops, dining and museums. This... more

This is a modern hotel with the usual amenities. Location is nice, just on one of the main street of Bucharest. The receptionists were wery helpful to us, actually the best we have seen in Romania. Rooms can look a bit of smal but they are actually normal compared to most of the Europe hotels. more

This is a modern hotel in a great position, Our room was clean & quiet, despite being on the main road, It was a comfortable size with a small writing desk. The matress was excellent. I sat in the small lounge/ restaurant & ordered a tasty evening snack with a beer whilst watching the big screen TV . The price... more

My stay at his hotel for 5 days on business was nothing short of awful! I was greeted at reception by a man who just held out his hand and snapped “passport!” My room was too hot, tiny and the carpets so filthy I did not want to walk on them without socks. They claim to have bathrobes in even... more

We requested a baby cot which we got but there was barely space for it in the tiny room. The staff were friendly enough- Romanian staff in the service industry are hardly the most friendly people in the world so we don't expect much on that front. Apart from the size, the room was ok. The bathroom was well equipped,... more

This is a modern, 4 star hotel that's new and clean. But it doesn't have a lot of facilities. Other than the bedrooms, there's just one room - which hosts both the bar, breakfast room, and reception. The gym is in a separate building. We had one problem - our first room was unbelievably hot - even though it was... more

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Plaza Romana ( at the corner of Blvd dacia and on Calea Vitoriei). The lobby is rather small and it is shared with a small restaurant. The staff was attentive and the hotel facilities were five stars. Price is steep for Bucharest, but here you get what you pay for. In addition,... more

When you are in Bucharest in February the cocoon that a hotel like this one provides can be a godsend, everything about it is designed to enable you to relax. I stayed in an executive room booked via Expedia, and it was great - low key furnishings, very comfortable bed, nice ambient lighting, and (importantly from a Brit's perspective!) free... more

Martin Sullivan - Cheltenham, England Stayed between 14 Feb 2007 and 19 Feb 2007 In what is often a souless capital city, although that should not deter anyone from travelling to Bucharest, The Golden Tulip Times is an oasis of friendliness, effeciency and clear professionalsm. Firstly, the hotel staff are fantastic. That's everyone from the Reception staff through to the... more

The Hotel Golden Tulip was the most expensive place we stayed in Romania. The room was very small, but clearly the hotel was a 4* hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. We walked everywhere, to the Palace, and the Arc! A computer is available in the lobby to check email free of charge. Based on how my body reacted 3... more
