This was one of the worst hotel stays I've had in a while. First, the good: excellent location, friendly and professional front desk staff/concierge. The bad: uncomfortable bed, dated room/equipment, no help from bellhops, old and broken TV, light from huge flashing advertising sign across the street bleeding through curtains, misleading advertising for high-speed internet connection. The reservation info said... more

I have travelled to Romania quite frequently in the past several years and one thing hard to ignore are the people. The Romanian attitude is often one of self-interest, the word friendliness is a difficult one in Romania – and the people seem to live in a legacy of distrust, jealousy and self-preservation. I am prefacing this report with the... more

The hotel is centrally located with great views all over the town and some 30min/40 euros from the airport. I sincerely wish the government would have dealt by now with all the 'funny' taxi drivers posted at the airport that make the first impression on the level of professionalism one would find in a country and contributing to the image... more

I stayed 3 nights in Intercontinental Hotel, it was a pleasant stay. The people are very friendly and courteous. The room is very clean and fairly spacious. The bed sheets, bellows, and towels are very bright while and as good as new. The room has a balcony that over look Bucharest. The location is great, it is in the center... more

The room was not in a bad condition and the public spaces were fine also, not the latest design but I wasn't expecting much after the looks of the train station and Bucharest's generally dilapidated demeanor. The staff would not break one of my larger Romanian bills which the guidebook warned would be a problem but which I think that... more

The InterContinental Bucharest is a very nice upscale hotel and it is within steps of the Metro, which makes getting around very easy. The rooms are fairly large and roomy and the climate controls worked very well, which was much appreciated in the summer. There was little noise coming from the hallway or other rooms and the bed was super... more

I stayed there for three nights on business recently. At about €150 per night, it represented excellent value. The location is very central, close to shops and restaurants (Burebista, part of a chain - within 200 metres of the hotel is very good, traditional Romanian food, bear, deer etc and a to die for desert Papanash). The room had everything... more

The two high points of the Hotel Intercontinental in Bucharest are its location - very central, close to the Metro and business destinations - and the stafff. Staff were helpful, knowledgeable and very friendly. The hotel itself was a bit mixed. The lobby was very nice, though I was put off by the restaurants, not because of the food (I... more

I found this hotel very nice. I stayed in the 9th floor and i think this was newly redecorated. In the afternoon there was a card lying on the table telling me what kind of weather it would be the next day. I also received a newspaper under the door in the morning without asking for it. This was a... more
