Recently was on a small tour to Romani. On the first night we stayed at this Hotel. Very nice exterior, then down hill from there. Rude lady at the front desk, very plain lobby, room was like entering a time warp to the Soviet days. Furniture was old and I even had a radio that appeared it was made in... more

Aside from the very unfriendly service desk, the Soviet styled walpaper and furnature and the boiled hot dogs for breakfast. I had some of the worse sleeps in my life from the "nipping" of bed bugs. The sheets were changed daily but I could still feel something crawling and nipping at me which I'm sure must have been bed bugs.... more

This was a late Spring break booked all in with a low cost airline. Ive done this before and always been happy. The actual trip was ok but the hotel was a big disappointment. If only I had known about the Capsa Hotel where I had dinner (opposite, over the road). A very grand entrance is let down straight away... more

Hotel Capitol is well located in Bucharest. Nice lobby and quite large rooms., older style. Rooms have TV, bathroom and fridge with mini bar, quite the novelty in a 2-3 star hotel in Eastern Europe. Rooms and bath room were clean. Shower has the hand held rose and all of our shower curtains were removed by the cleaners in the... more

The Capitol Hotel promised everything, but delivered little. Very unfriendly service at the front desk on arrival and we were horrified to discover no air conditioning in most of the bedrooms. No toiletries, towels were threadbare (one had a hole!) and the horrible green and purple carpet in my room was absolutely filthy, with hair and lint scattered generously throughout.... more

This hotel is well situated and convenient. However the rooms are not spacious . The rack rate is EUR110 a night and for that you might some shampoo in the bathroom and a decent breakfast. The latter was either poor or entirely lacking and the attitude of the front desk was surly. So if you're prepared to eat breakfast round... more

Beautiful period building, perfectly located on Calea Victoriei, just a couple of minutes from Piata Revolutiei. I personally found central Bucharest very safe. I never felt threatened by the thieves, gypsies, or stray dogs that give the city such a bad reputation. I got a room overlooking the Military Circle building, quite a decent size, charming in an old fashioned... more

To me, this hotel was the perfect mix of luxery and a real Romanian atmosphere. Some hotels in Bucharest are too "Americanized" -- you feel like they're going a little too far to make you feel like you never left home. Which is not how you want to feel! But at the same time, you want to be comfortable because... more
