Stayed first night in Bucharest. Hotel clean but lacking any kind of soul. Good nights sleep in comfortable room. Breakfast was poor. Outlook from my room was just a crumbly old building. I should think there are better places to stay in this beautiful city.

Not too fancy, Rooms not so big, the view from the room is nothing to tell about, BUT, it is quite, very friendly, a place you can enjot for relaxation. Evenings can sometimes have a small concert of a singer with a piano. Breakfast, not too fancy but very good, again, spot on. Service level is A+, Second only to... More

This was our second stay at the Berthelot, for two nights before heading to Doha. We found the hotel as clean as it was during our first stay. Very helpful staff and a new manager who has welcomed us. We appreciated the welcome drinks. The breakfast is just wonderful, varied and of good quality. This property offer real good value... More

Don't go if you are seniors and don't like bad service. The Hotel has an elevator but you only reach it after you struggle through worst and most dangerous ramp. See Picture. In the night the hotel is dimly lit and if you are not careful or may be had a few drinks, one wrong step and you slip through... More

Stayed at this hotel for two nights, very close to the old city center, the staff was OK the room was nice, comfortable bed and clean sheets except for the bathroom floor, which had hair everywhere. That was a disappointment but the rest of the room was clean. They also have a nice breakfast selection and the waiters are very... More

The Berthelot is set in a side-street, a modern building looking out of place in a traditional neighbourhood. The hotel reception is set below street level, so you descend into the plain but modern reception area. The restaurant is next to it, also below street level, which allows natural light in during the day. My room was modern and clean,... More

Good hotel if you going on busines trip, located in the center of the city. Nice location, clean anb quiet rooms, interesting interior, very helpful personnel. For late arrivals: hotel restorant closed after 10PM, so you will need to go somewhere else to get dinner (but this is not a very big problem).

albeit that the room and breakfast were adequate nothing can compensate with the behaviour of the reception clerk. first, because we ordered the room in Euros he gave us an exchange rate much higher than the official one (the exchange rate was actually higher by over 10% in comparison to any other hotel we stayed in in He was very... It’s service that obliges me to term the hotel as excellent. It is not so common to find such considerate and obliging service at a standard hotel as I got at Berthelot. My many thanks for their help and kindness during my stay. There are other good points to the hotel, too – location is perfect, close to underground and... More

I thought it was standard that tea & coffee making facilities were in your room but not here. I left some cash in the safe in my room but the hotel wired the money back to me via Western Union. I have no idea why they couldn't do a bank transfer, apparently Romanian banks can't use IBAN numbers????
