My husband and I stayed here for 1 night on our way from Hungary to the Plitvice Park in Croatia. It was a short, flat walk from the train station, and the location is very central, right behind the main square, and near the farmer's market on a narrow side street with lots of restaraunts nearby. It was very hard to find the street sign for Skalinska and then once on the street, hard to find the upstairs entrance to the hostel, although a waiter helped us with that. Once upstairs, the hostel is new, pleasant, clean, and quiet. We stayed in a private double, and shared a nice, clean bathroom in the hall. The furniture and bedding all looks to be new and in the spirit of Ikea. The front staff were strict but through, and we had some good, cheap, italian fare in the street below. The odd thing about the staff, in a rather comical yet sad way, was how disparaging and dismal they were about the city, the hostel, and even all of Croatia.
