After escape from other hotel I ended up to Planeta and stayed there almost two weeks. Much better: clean room, enough space to open suitcase, air conditioning, view to the big avenue, guarded parking, friendly staff at reception and outside bar. Breakfast was ok, sometimes surprising with grilled liver, but all eatable. Bars were ok for evening whisky, and distance... More

Been there for 5 days . Not the best but not bad. Good location clean rooms but that's about all. Very old-fashioned public areas . Bars or cafeteria ?? There is some kind of it. A place to sleep . that's all :)

The facade and reception areas belie the dated rooms. We travelled as part of a group, but none of us got a double bed - all singles and could not move together as set at right angles. Very hot too. Dining room was very ornate and colourful. Food was average, but that is what I've come to expect as part... More

I stayed at this hotel for three nights with friends. The staff were generally efficient and mostly friendly, although some staff could have been more welcoming. My room was big enough with a good view although I found the bathroom a bit basic. My air conditioning wasn't working. After a number of reminders someone did come and fix it but... More

Check in was quick and easy. On returning to the hotel at midnight after a late dinner in the city, when I went to reclaim my key, I was told I had to change rooms to the tenth floor which I begrudgingly accepted – pleased to have a higher floor with a bit of a view but I was incredibly... More

I liked staying in this hotel at the end of May 2014 very much. The room was nice , there was free wi- fi in it. The service at the reception and in the lobby bar was a bit slow. What surprised me was that after I had used the telephone in my room for making a call in Belarus... More

Stayed 3 nights in this soviet-style hotel during Ice Hockey World Championships. This hotel was nicely located with superb bus connections to the Minsk Arena, city center and railway station. Our room in 10th floor was well furnished (TV, hairdryer, safe, fridge/minibar) with spacious bathroom well equipped with toiletry etc. The view over to the city was superb. This hotel... More

We had a group of six finnish icehockey fans in Minsk 9-12th may, our icehockeyteam was not that good against Latvia and Russia, but Minsk was far better what we expected, and our rooms in the hotel Planeta were excellent ones (eg. room no 628), great view to city, cheap (!!!) minibar (if we compare the prices to those in... This isn't western luxury, but nor is price. It's a comfortable well situated hotel with helpful staff, including door guy with big soviet hat. Good choice for breakfast. Bar open all night with room-off strip club. Sorry, didn't try it -maybe next time!
