Not having been to Eastern Europe in almost 15 years, I didn't know what to expect from the Hotel Minsk. I was pleasantly surprised throughout my stay. The rooms, true, aren't huge, and the mattress isn't exactly a Hyatt pillowtop. But the bathrooms are modern, and everything during my six-day stay was spotless. The service was professional, efficient, and friendly... more

I stayed at the Hotel Minsk at the end of June by myself for three nights. The one suggestion that I would make is to get a high floor overlooking the square...preferably a room with a balcony , or french balcony. The view of the Stalanist square was probably my favorite part of the hotel. Especially watching the kids, couple,... more

Nice hotel. Located right in the center of Minsk's downtown. Walking distance to an underground subway station, many restaurants, stores, university, museums. A bit outdated and small rooms. My room had a view on the central Nezalezhnast' square, which was a great view. Service is typical for a former soviet country. Very small beds, not a queen sized, as we... more

First time to Hotel Minsk. Staff are wonderful, rooms are clean, but dated. Bathrooms are spotless, but they only give you one bath towel. Air conditioning worked (and it was hot/sticky one day). The base level price room is small, but typically European. There's a hot water maker in the room and one packet of instant coffee (and two tea... more

Good hotel - very central - well heated in winter. Internet access is free, but only available in the lobby, which is full of smokers. Restaurant is OK (menu with English translation). At night : female pianist + violinist + opera singer entertain the customers. more

I guess people in Belarus are trying to attract more tourists that's why I was treated like a king in this hotel. In some situations I felt uncomfortable because I was doint toooooo much for me. Another thing suprised me... employees don't demand tips and even refuse to take it in some situations. Rooms, service, location, restaurant... everything was more... more

Stayed in "Minsk" during the month of July and totally enjoyed it. Clean, modern, fully equipped hotel that didn't make us regret the money spent. Rooms a bit on a smaller side of things, dut nevertheless very comfortable and hygienic. Loved the bathrooms. Service very good, but have a bit of patience with the staff - language barrier. more

As others have written, this would definitely be a three star Ibis or Best Western anywhere else in the world, but in Belarus its the number three hotel in the country (after the Hotel Europe and Crowne Plaza) and seems very proud of its four star status. To its credit, there's not so much evidence of the Soviet era mentality... more

Stayed August 2008. Decent location if you need to be central but the room was nothing spectacular. There's no way this would be 4* in Western Europe. Just a standard hotel room really, but the bed was hard and lumpy and the linen wasn't exactly crisp. TV is appalling with the only English channels being CNN and MSNBC - if... more

The Hotel Minsk is a great hotel with a high standard in my opinion. I stayed there for one night as a part of a business trip. The room was very good and clean. Reception was riendly and I did not have any problems with my credit card. Credit Cards which worked (I know from personal experience): American Express (takes... more
