Tahiti is an expensive destination - and this hotel is expensive by Australian standards - but not by Tahiti standards. It is in a great position - close to the markets, the Moorea ferry and the Roulettes. My husband and I stayed 4 nights - supposedly in a "Double Mini Suite". The room was large - but it was more... more

Le Mandarin has a convenient location being right in Papeete. Its opposite the Town Hall, a couple of blocks walk from the waterfront and the markets are close by too. Reception area is small but nice. Reception staff were ok. Although they spoke little English and were not overly helpful or friendly. I got the feeling of being an annoyance... more

I stayed at Le Mandarin pre and post cruise and found it clean and relatively comfortable and very convenient to the Marche and in easy walking distance to the wharf with wheeled suitcase, thus eliminating an exorbitant taxi fare. I found all the staff extremely pleasant and enjoyed being able to take a Tiare gardenia each morning from the bowl... more

We stayed at Le Mandarin for an overnight in Tahiti. Our sole purpose for the overnight was to visit the roulottes (food trucks) at the dock, which we hadn't been to since our honeymoon. Knowing this, our travel agent booked us at Le Mandarin. We couldn't have been more pleased with the location of the hotel. The roulottes were a... more

I stayed at the Le Mandarin from 7/8/08 through the morning of July 12. I must say the location of this reasonably priced hotel (for Tahiti) is fabulous with quick access to the waterfront, the docks and various sites in Papeete. Great! When I checked in, after a flight from Los Angeles, the man at the desk was polite and... more

We have stayed 2 nights at this small hotel in downtow Tahiti, the location is great, the hotel is very clean although old furniture but we were very well greated by the the receptionists. The only downside of this downtown hotel is the noise at night as it is surrounded by bars, restaurants and clubs. We recommend it for a... more

I will never forget the Le Mandarin. We booked it because the pictures of the room look clean and comfy. We stayed 1 night on the way to Bora Bora and 1 night on the way back. On the last night of our trip to Tahiti we settled in to sleep but woke up around midnight to find 10 baby... more

We needed a place to stay for one night before and after our 10 day French Polynesian cruise. I chose this hotel because of the TripAdvisor reviews, its proximity to the port, and the price ($200 which was cheap for Tahiti). The rooms were clean and the typical small size of most hotels. Air conditioning in the room was not... more

A small Hotel in Papeete, Tahiti. This hotel while average, not flash, never-the-less it was spotless, and the biggest plus was just how central it is. Only a block from the waterfront, and ferries to the outer Island. Also just along from the markets, couldnt have been better situated, made it easy to walk to most things. Didnt try the... more

Eight of us booked four rooms for an overnight stay before boarding the Tahitian Princess the next day. We all debated whether it would be better to stay at a nicer resort out of town or one in town and convenient. Obviously, convenient won out. We arrived on the 6:15 p.m flight and took 2 cabs to the hotel (for... more
