We flew in from Bora Bora and needed a place to relax before our midnight flight to LAX in late May. The Meridien fit the bill! We enjoyed a very modern, clean room and later had a well prepared dinner in the main outdoor dining area. The entire experience was just what we needed before a long flight, so I'd... More

After a long flight from Los Angeles, it is quite pleasant to arrive at the newly remodeled Le Meridien. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and quiet. Drapes open to a lovely, watery landscape. A shade in the bathroom opens so one can soak and enjoy the view. Water bungalows are lovely. Wood walls and adornment give them a feeling of warmth.... More

This hotel was good for spending one night. The general appearance is a bit old, as the rooms, but ok. The pool and the beach are nice. The restaurant at the beach was too expensive, but the food was delicious for lunch and dinner. The rooms didn´t have wifi, only in the lobby free wifi.

Dear guest, Thank you for taking the time to write a review about our hotel. We are sorry if we did not entirely match with your expectations. Reading your review, I would like to precise one thing, our rooms do have wifi but with a fee. I just wanted to not make the confusion with other tripadvisor users. Kind regards More

The rooms were nice but nothing amazing - certainly not the mental image I had of Tahiti. The staff were not warm or helpful and there was barely a smile. I would suggest that management send their head staff to Le Meridien in Bora Bora for a couple of days to see how guests should be treated. This part of... More

I looked at all hotels in Papeete before deciding where to stay. In visiting the Intercontinental and the Le Meridien, I found both of them to be similar. Neither is a 5+ star hotel.....They are pretty resort hotels at the jumping off point for the Other islands. I chose the Le Meridian because I am a part of Starwood and... More

Lovely and welcoming Hotel a 15min drive from Papeete. We enjoyed our stay, we booked a garden view room and got a sea view on top of it. Good, friendly and attentive service at the Pool Restaurant for lunch, food was enjoyable - but not more. The beach is pleasant to relax and to snorkel or swim.

I found that whole Tahiti experience over priced and over-rated and think their tourism committee needs to seriously review why the tourist trade is declining here. The Le Meridian is a nice hotel, lovely outlook and welcoming staff but like the rest of Tahiti, it is now lacking the finesse, romance, uniqueness that the vision "Tahiti" conjurers up. We had... Large room, but don't expect slippers, more than one soap for the whole bathroom (separate shower, bath, sinks = one soap). Nice pool, lagoon style, nice location if you have a car. Contrary to other comments, we had no problem with the staff (maybe because we speak french).

Cons: I have stayed here 3 times now and each time I have had the same experience. - Front desk staff exceptionally low levels of service standards and unfriendly. never smiled. Really didn't care about our experience. - No towels, facecloths, bathmats or hand towels in room. Took 50 minutes and two complaints for them to arrive. - air conditioning... More

If you are looking for 4 or 5 star property, this is not for you. Set your expectations low and hope for better. The location is a good as any hotel we found on the island of Tahiti, although the hotels on Moorea seemed nicer. We upgraded to a panoramic ocean view room, as we were not offered the over... More
