We stayed 2 nights in ahitea lodge. Compared to other hotels in (with varied assessments) you get good value for money. The bed in our basic room (4) was hard and a bit small and the fan could hardly change the heat at night. The bathroom is basic but clean. Breakfast was good with lots of fresh fruits and homemade... Stayed 4 days, reasonable price and comfortable accommodation, Family run B&B. Staff were helpful: use of fridge and some kitchen facilities to make other meals. Breakfast typical continental, fresh fruit. Pool well maintained and essential as January is HOT. 15 minute walk to town center, some stores for food nearby. Food is expensive in Tahiti.

I had booked the lodge because I thought it was closer to the ferry than the Sarah Nui hotel but I don't think it is, and Sarah Nui is a lot nicer and the area to walk into town better. Locals have said it's not unsafe but not very pleasant at night because it's a poorer area. I went out... More

It's cheap and you get what you have paid for. We didn't expect much but it is still below our expectation. If you are looking for basic and budget accommodation, it might be your option. The room doesn't look as good as it is on the photo. The breakfast was basic too so we didnt have any.

Great little hotel crossed with a b & b with hostel thrown in. We had a studio room with own bath but there was rooms with shared bath... all very clean and simple. nice space with shared balcony . breakfast baguette and cheese/butter spreads and a grapefruit . Beds was a tad hard but for a day or two livable.... More

I found Papeete itself not very charming. The more pleased I was to check in at this little lodge. It has could beds, furniture in rooms that make you feel a bit home and a nice and sizable swimming pool. The best: In contrast to most other hotels it is really quite. You need to walk 7 to 10 minutes... More

Stayed here for few days during late September 2013...Felt compelled to write a review about this pension after reading negative reviews that may of had some truth to them PRIOR to the new owners taking over in July 2013,but this is not the case now in my experience. The new owner Melinda has hosts Maritta & Teiva living across from... More

This place is great. Apprx 1km walk from ferry terminal. The walk to the lodge is not the greatest. Poor community, groups of kids at corners, stray dogs. Its manageable during the day BUT would be very wary at night. Mind you this is 'real' Tahiti not the globalized version. The lodge is located down a cul de sac. The... More

We stayed one night at the Ahitea, after arriving on a late flight from New Zealand. We were picked up at the airport (extra $) and driven directly to the Pension. The owner was friendly and helpful but the room very basic (no night table or lamp or clock). The ceiling fan barely worked and as there were no screens... More

I received an immediate favorable response when I queried the Ahitea about staying there for a couple of nights prior to sailing on the Aranui III. It is a small place on a quiet lane. You would never find it by yourself. The rooms were very sparse but clean. Upon my return they upgraded me to a room with attached... More
