We did not stay at the Pearl Lodge but they were more than happy to give us a tour of the island. Jean Pierre met us at the Tourism Center and drove us to multiple lookouts to take photos. During the drive, he educated us about the landscape and history of the island. He took us to the current fairgrounds... More

We had a wonderful time in this hotel. Service is up to international standards and all employees make their best to provide a pleasant and complete stay. Dining experience is delicious and very local. The receptionist was really attentive! The activities offered are the perfect way to visit the different areas of the island and live unforgettable experiences. We were... More

Recently stayed here in October for 5 nights prior to a Paul Gauguin cruise. Charming little hotel with fabulous views over Taiohae bay. The main building which is reception, bar and dining room is surrounded by 18 bungalows and is set in a tropical garden setting with a small infinity pool. All of the bungalows are identical but the best... More

The hotel is located on the western end of the bay of Taiohae and offers a breathtaking view over the blue bay and its stunning montainous surroundings. The bungalows are held in wooden Marquesan-Polynesian style and are decorated by local artists. Absolutely loved the ambience! The staff was super friendly and did their best to make you feel comfortable. The... More

I stated in the Nuku Hiva Pearl Lodge four nights in April. I was worried because my French is just so-so, but most of the staff there spoke some English. I was staying with an inclusive package that included breakfast and dinner and three excursions. They were quiet a bargain when everything was said and done. The rooms never get... More

Nuku Hiva is one of the islands which remained somewhat and largely virgin. It is clean and the roads are good compared with the other in Marquesas. Exceptional landscapes and the locals focus on keeping their historical and cultural heritage. The population is mostly Maori, so the culture it belongs to they almost entirely. Ms. Nathalie Volle is a General... More

The Pearl Lodge bungalows are the best accommodations on the island. The views are spectacular, 260 degree views from the bungalows of various bays. During the day, you can hire a boat to various locations, including to the beach that leads to a hike to Vaiipo Falls, and the other direction to where a Survivor season was once filmed. The... The pay-off for our climb up to the highest of the cabins (#16) was a superb view of the bay. We enjoyed enormously our 7 days stay, which we did half-board. The amenities in the cabin were rustic lux, i.e., quite comfortable considering one is not in a place with ready access to all luxuries. As the temperature was quite... More

The Marquesas are beautiful remote islands and are well worth the visit. The hotel is lovely with the rooms dotted over the hillside. The food was good (excellent melting chocolate puddings) but the cocktails were terrible (they had no idea how to make them). We asked to sign-off the meals each night, but they were all too laid back to... More
