I agree with other recent positive reviews of Tropic of Capricorn - friendly helpful staff, basic & clean rooms for a very reasonable price, convenient to the airport and Nadi town. We were in an ocean-facing double room and really enjoyed the veranda. The on-site breakfasts were quite good, and a special shout-out to cook Nidesh who made excellent coffee... More

We stayed for 3 nights in the dorm suites and have nothing but good things to say. Riko was the staff member there almost every day (does he sleep?!) and was super nice, remembered my name and always had great music on. The rooms were as you would expect and there is a great sitting area that over looks the... More

My friend and I stayed there twice in January and had a different double room each time. The first one was pretty disappointing in the first place: the air conditioning was licking, the curtains could not be drawn and the bathroom door didn't close... But we asked at the reception and the staff was really friendly helping us to fix... More

I travelled alone and stayed here for 6 days, during which the only problem i encountered was weak air conditioning and that was promptly fixed. The staff here led by Aggie, are a credit to this hotel. You cant ask for more friendlier, honest or helpfull staff then the ones at this place. The rooms are value for money, and... More

This is difficult to write as i have such mixed feelings. Firstly the pictures are deceptive ; it does not look like that ! On first impression at night this is a lovely setting. There is a beautiful little swimming pool and a terrace. The reception area is large and airy, there is a little library with a good selection... More

Bula bula, Thanks for the nice comments and sorry for the negative impressions. Wailoaloa Beach is not the postcard white sand beach of traveller's tropic dreams. When rainy (a lot since New Years) the water goes darker with river runoff, but it is quite beautiful on a sunny day with the backdrop of Sleeping Giant Mountains, a horizon of Mamanuca... More

I'll try to get to the point, hopefully this will help someone. Avoid this place at all costs: -check-in delayed due to room being flooded from a pipe burst -placed in room 7 in the interim -room 7: smells like mildew, soiled bed, heavily soiled couch, dilapidated bathroom -hours pass, no word from front desk re: status of room -finally... Bula Westcoast_Peach, Thanks for the feedback and apologies for this series of unfortunate incidents. Nadi was under a high cyclone alert during your stay and it was a frustrating period for all with heavy rain/wind, burst pipes and water cuts. We see that your free Airport Pickup was booked for 10PM on your stated date of arrival, and thus our... More

Not great but there are pros and cons. It's relatively cheap. Location is good - right on the beach and near a few other resorts/hostels that provide some great entertainment. Near a small grocery store and a great Asian restaurant down the road. Pool is nice and the receptionist is very welcoming. BUT the rooms are dingy (definitely choose an... More

Guess we got the best room in the hotel...It was room number 15 with ocean view..staff were really helpful especially Rico, Nitesh and Aggie...really enjoyed our stay...Clean and value for money....there is a supermarket nearby and few restaurants. South Sea Trip recommended by the hotel was also another stunning island. Will definitely be back....

Myself and my partner stayed at The Tropic of Capricorn for 3 nights. The hotel is in the midst of about 3 others and is a sister hotel to the backpackers 2 minutes walk away. The adult version. It was great to stay at the Capricorn and go to bamboo lodge (the backpackers) for the bar and food. Rooms were... More
