This is a cool and happy one-of-a-kind hostel. The staff are so wonderful, funny, kind, and interactive. They create a magical atmosphere with so much joy and laughter. Fijians really are the happiest friendliest people. And the weather is perfect. Blue skies and sunshine everyday. Rooms, food, pool, wifi all great. A pretty place to take many many pictures, meet... In July of 2014, I arrived at Bamboo Backpackers to what appeared like a great place. Unfortunately, the service was awful. I was sold their package to Taveuni Island at Maravu Lodge. Upon arriving at Maravu Lodge, after 20 hours of commuting, there was no running water at the hostel. I complained several times, as well as a few others.... More

Stayed here on two seperate occasions and was bitten by bed bugs both times! Once before my island hopping which ruined the first few days and once before my 24 hour flight home which was horrendous! When I consulted the receptionist he ignored me. Shame because it's a nice place but that is unacceptable!

Bula bula, Thank you for the candid feedback. We appreciate appreciate your comment referring to our property as a nice place and we humbly apologise for the uncomfortable experiences that you faced. Many of our guests travel off the beaten track to properties where various bugs and insects live. Occasionally, bugs etc. jump into bags and/or backpacks and unbeknownst to... More

My hubby and myself have just retired and it is the first 'backpacker' hostel we have ever been in. Clean value for money meals available all day and excellent choice and quantities. u know what? I couldn't have asked for anything better than to be be around all the beautiful fijian employees who work very hard to bring joy and happiness to the people who stay at the bamboo backpackers. You can always hear laughs throughout bamboo and there's so much energy, welcoming and great manners, time generosity, the hospitality is ridiculously... More

We got to the airport and our pickup they arranged was not there. We called them after 20 min and they said it was comming. Half an hour latter we called again and they said the same. After one and a half hour waiting we decided to take a taxi. In fact their arranged pickup would never show up. They... More

I cannot agree more with everyone's reviews!!! I was so happy with everything. It looked like a hostel but had the service of a 5 star hotel. Everyone was so kind and everyone went out of their way to say Bula. I traveled by myself and they had a way of making me feel right at home. I loved my... More
