I have to say this hotel was the biggest disappointment. As we pulled up in the taxi all I could say to my husband was 'What have I done?'. I have read the other reviews and now I realise we were grossly over charged as well. $130FJ. Are you kidding? The Novotel Lami is only $100FJ and it is delightful... More

Flight was canceled while we were waiting in Nadi Fiji and the airline put us up in the grand Melanesian. At first arrival the reception staff were not really helpful and were very slow to get us all rooms, they were also trying to pair strangers up in rooms, when we got our room finally we found that it had... • First of all thank you very much for your opinion which is very much appreciated. However, please allow me to clarify the issues raised. • Delay in allocation of room/staff attitude Please be informed that staff at reception had to attend to a large number of guests all of a sudden, which may have caused a delay. However poor... More

When we arrived in Nadi we booked a room here last minute and we were grateful to be accommodated with such short notice. The room we stayed in was large and the bed was comfortable. The air con worked well. The room could do with a bit of an update but for the price it didn't really matter. The hotel... More

Thanks for a wonderful stay at the Grand Melanesian Hotel during my Fiji visit. I enjoyed my large clean room, met caring staff, ate delicious food and all at an affordable cost. I have not visited the Melanesian for a few years and I can see good changes. Congratulations to you, Nitin and your team. Next year, I look forward... More

The food was not so good. Lots of stairs to carry the luggage up. The surroundings are a rough, very noise. No entertainement I've certainly stated this the worst place to stay for a lot more money. There's a great pizza and seafood restaurant close by which serves amazing food Exterior appearance shabby. Fijian men singing loudly in the early hours... More

Thank you for your review but I would just like to clear up a few issues, this guest has stayed at our Hotel on two occasions, first alone and on the second visit with the partner. He had definitely enjoyed the stay and that is why had re-booked to return. Yes we do apologize that a particular night during the... More

After missing my flight in Nadi, I had to overnight there. It was recommended by an airport employee to stay here, at the Grand Melanesian Hotel. I checked in and was satisfied as to what I paid for the room. In the middle of the night the window screen came off and a man was breaking into the room, but... More

Bula, thank you for your comments on my staff and must apologise for the misfortunate incident on your stay with us. Just recently the Hotel has changed ownership so upgrading works in the rooms and grounds is taking place which will include the replacing of the outside windows to make them more secure for the guest comfort. We do take... More

As I travel alone I never made any hotel booking before arriving. I came across this hotel by a recommendation from the Nadi airport taxi driver who drove me here. I was meet by very friendly staff who gave me a Deluxe room for only F$70.00 per night. The room was clean and included a double bed, single bed, shower... More

I walked into the Grand melanesian without a booking after getting off an afternoon flight from Taveuni. The afternoon shift Security and Front Office staff were so nice and very helpful. I stayed in a fan room @ $65 which was nice, clean and affordable. I would say its the best Location, just near the Airport, near Namaka easy access... More

We booked this hotel the day Cyclone Evan was on it's way! We were evacuated from the islands and all other hotels were booked. We happened to get this hotel F$70 which was a total bargain. Our room faced the main road, it was big, clean and cool. We had a double bed and a single, bath, shower, air con... More

Due to an Air Pacific delay out of Nadi, we were put into this hotel and were shocked that an airline would partner up with a hotel like this. The price may be good, but the conditions were worse than that of a backpackers' lodge at its worst. We were in a double room which cost 110 Fijian dollars. The... More
