I stayed at the Tubakula Beach Bungalows in August 2009, and back in 1988 when I was backpacking. Twenty years on it’s still a good budget option for families or groups that bring their own entertainment. The bungalows must’ve had (several) coats of paint since 1988 because they’re still in good condition, as are the grounds and pool. Don’t expect... more

Recently returned from our 3rd stay at Tubakula in 5 years, and happy to report that it is still the relaxed, friendly, no-frills place it's always been, despite numerous changes in staff over the years. The bungalows are simple but clean, with no TVs or phones, or heaven forbid, internet access ;), and the place still feels like you have... more

This place is creepy. Staff are friendly but when we stayed noone else was there, which gave it an uncomfortable atmosphere! Room was awful.. cockroach in the shower!!! were meant to be stayin there 3 nights but cancelled the last 2 after a sleepless first night. My advice is to give Tubakula a miss... there are better places to stay... more

The bungalows are very cute, all with fully functional kitchens. The swimming pool was green with what can only be described as 'gunk' so was out of use. The staff are reasonably friendly, they only real downfall I would say is the food, it is truly appauling. The surrounding area is lovely.... very close to a beach and walking distance... more

This is a fantastic low-budget place to base yourself for a lazy beach holiday or exploring the Coral Coast. It's a long hike from either Nadi or Suva airports. If you want cheap transport the local buses stop right outside the door but they only run until about 5:30pm. I think the bungalows close to the road could be noisy... more

We have stayed at Tubakula 3 times now over the past 2.5 years and we are hooked. It is almost next door to the Outrigger, closer to the beach, has cheaper food (of a good standard - try the banana pancakes and the curries), has a better coral reef and it's staff are so very friendly. You don't have the... more

Tubakula is on the main highway which means it is easily accesibly by public transport. I went with three girlfriends & we all loved the spacious A frame bungalows! There are approx 30 bungalows evenly spaced on their large beach front property. We stayed in a poolside bungalow. Downstairs is a double bedroom + toilet & bathroom + open plan... more

My wife and I stayed at Tubakula for 6 days in July 2008. We were looking for something by the beach and inexpensive - and chose Tubakula based on the contributions from other Trip Advisor members. We found Tubakula to be a delightful surprise, and thanks to the vidoes and photos from other contributors, we knew what to expect and... more

We loved our stay at Tubakula with our two small children. Our little A framed bungalow was classic 60s and had a nice little patio area looking out onto the beach where our 3 year old was as soon as she got up! There was plenty of shade on the beach from the palm trees so felt fine about our... more

Tabukula was cheap, clean, and beautiful, with the amenties we need and without those we didn't, as I explained in greater detail on my blot at http://2xtravel.blogspot.com. I do advise a car might be useful, though not required, since one might want to visit other beaches that have better swimming (the coral coast is not called that for nothing!) But... more
