We only visited for lunch so cannot comment on the hotel. The lunch was fabulous - i had seared tuna with chips and it was amazing. Cannot fault it. I probably wouldn't stay there as the location isn't great for holidaying - however it would be great for transits or very short stops.

Great hotel opposite airport. Lovely place to laze away some hours pre or post flight. Great meals and beautiful outlook onto lagoon. Rohan and his team are enthusiastic and look after their guests very well. Upgrades to the property are noticeable. Great info on site about local tours and attractions. They also manage other properties on the island if you... More

Always open, even when everywhere else was shut. The Islander has a nice poolside setting with views of the sea. We enjoyed the excellent pizza’s and fantastic coffee. My daughter thinks the shrimp cocktail is the best she’s ever had. Prices are very reasonable, service is great and food excellent.

Now never actually stayed here but on Saturday 3 January tried to book a room. Talked to lady at front desk and while I appreciate that we cannot expect the whole world to understand English a basic - do you have any rooms available? should be understood by anyone in the hotel trade. After being asked if we wanted pizza... More

Kia Orana, Thank you for your comments about your experience at the Islander Hotel. We apologise about the poor service you received. We had 2 rooms available on Sat 3 Jan 2015. I cannot fathom how or why our team members sent you to the bar to order pizzas when you clearly asked about room availability? All our staff are... More

Our flight arrived after midnight and this hotel was perfect being just accross the road. The room was comfortable and clean. The Hotel appears to be getting a make over as there was a strong smell of paint. Staff were helpful and breakfast was OK. Some of the electrical sockets in the room didnt work, but as we didnt want... More

So, this place is literally right across the road from the airport. You know what that means? No ridiculously overpriced transfer service needed! Just wheel your luggage on over and you're there. As there are not that many flights per day at the airport, the noise was not an issue. As it happened, we stayed for one night after some... More

We spent one night here after a late flight into Rarotonga. The Islander serves the purpose of needing a transitional place to stay. We had pre booked a room here as our flight arrived at 1.30am. Convenient location for sure, we had a room with 4 single beds, nothing fancy, very basic room, small but functional bathroom.
