I stayed here for 2 weeks when my husband and I relocated to Rarotonga for his job. Tua helped me figure out where to buy fresh fish, Aliti the cleaning lady helped us when we had ants in our room (it's the tropics, what do you expect?! We never saw cockroaches though) and we were even upgraded to the honeymoon... More

After 2 weeks travelling around New Zealand i decided to book myself a week in Rarotonga to relax before heading home to the UK. After having problems booking accommodation in Mauri i stumbled across Paradise Inn in Avarua, thank god i did! The accommodation is basic but has everything you could need. I had a shower, comfortable bed, fridge and... More

Paradise Inn has a lot of potential. It's a beautiful old building, with a wonderful terrace. The common area is very spacious and comfortable. It's also just minutes away from the heart of the capital town of Avarua (not that there is much to do or see there, but still..) and lies right on a pretty beach (which is not... More

We stayed for one night in this charming two level accommodation as our flight to Aitutaki was the next day. Paradise Inn is located at the north side of the island at the outskirt of Avarua - the capital. I was expecting this to be a minus but unless you are staying in one of the resorts you need some... We stayed here twice on the days we flew in and out of Rarotonga. Close to the airport, the police station (for your CI driver's licence), the shops and several eateries. Very convenient and right on the beach.

Clean but definitely a little rough around the edges, most of the rooms at Paradise Inn have been created by partitioning what used to be an old dance hall - and the partitions aren't that thick. We could easily hear the conversations in the next room, so if you're looking for privacy, then this ain't your place to stay. As... More

The rooms are fairly basic and old school, but that's what island life is all about! When in Raro, you spend little time indoors anyway. They're well-equipped - decent-sized fridge, fan and full cooking facilities in every room, plus you can cook in the main communal lounge/dining area too. The rooms even have wireless internet, but it's slow and costly... More

This is one of those dreamy South Seas establishments where you could imagine Somerset Maugham or Robert Louis Stevenson in residence. The service is casual so you need to look after yourself but the owners are friendly and helpful in any way they can be. The honesty bar is great and the deck overlooking the ocean catches the sea breezes... More

We had to stay the last night in Rarotonga since the Flight was delayed for 5 more hours. Paradise inn is fitting our budget for couple hours of rest before coming to the airport at 2 am in the morning. The hotel is spacious and clean to our expectation and reasonable budget. two big advantages: Its location is right in... More

Unusual rooms, with upstairs and downstairs bedroom. Upstairs is up a very narrow steep staircase, not recommended for elderly or infirm. There is service during the day, which was little use to me as a business traveller. The in-house internet service didn't work. Has basis cooking facilities, but otherwise shower, toilet etc are basic and limited. Fans, but no air... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Paradise Inn, Rarotonga is the perfect place for travelers looking for value for money. We have 16 serviced units nestled in a peaceful location between the mountains and the sea, yet only a few minutes walk to downtown Avarua. The terrace, bar and lounge have breathtaking lagoon and ocean views and are yours for relaxing, whale watching, meeting people or enjoying a meal al fresco. A beach before the reef offers our visitors the prospect of sunbathing, a stroll along the beach, low tide reef walking and spotting starfish, coral and the small colourful reef fish that populate the lagoon. As the sun sets, enjoy a sundowner on the terrace with a drink from the last "Honesty Bar" in the South Pacific where cocktails and tall tales are the order of the evening. ... more   less
