The hotel is located in one of Montevideo's most prestigious and safest neighborhoods. It's across Gomensoro Square and two short blocks from the beach and the famous Rambla (promenade) along the Rio de la Plata. You'll find grocery stores, shops, bakeries, drugstores, restaurants, bars, etc. all around. It's about 15 minutes away from the downtown area (Centro y Ciudad Vieja)... More

I chose this hotel as I was travelling alone and wanted a hotel that was in a safe neighbourhood, and it certainly was. It's 2 blocks from the beach, which I imagine in high season would be amazing and convenient. It's also 2 blocks from loads of shops and restaurants and about a 15 minute walk from the big shopping... More

Nice hotel. Went there with my wife and my father and mother-in-law. Very nice staff and a nice breakfast. A lot of options. We ask for hot water for our "chimarrão" and they promptly gave us. On a very nice neighborhood, me and my wife went walking twice (once at night) for the Carrasco Mall. The view from the "mar... More

A great home base from which to explore Montevideo. There are many restaurants nearby and the beach is just a block down the road. The breakfast was good, the staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean. The staff were also very helpful in arranging tours of MV and Punta del Este.

My husband and I go to Montevideo regularly, to visit family and friends and oftentimes we take our children and grandchildren to share my heritage. This was our third stan at the Ermitage and we find ourselves very much at home, there. Staff is mostly friendly, warm and helpful. The best feature, though is the location: Pocitos is a lovely... Stayed here for couple of days - the location is excellent (one block away from the beach). The lobby looks good. However, the halls and the room could use some upgrade. The halls are pretty dark and gloomy. The bathroom was quite nice, though. We also enjoyed the breakfast - the assortment is wide, and the quality was pretty good.... More

I have travelled to Punta del Este with my son, but decided to stay one night in Montevideo, this hotel was recommended by my brother as a good place to stay, just a few blocks from the sea. we hade a nice view over the sea. Although rooms are quite small and the furniture are and looks old, it is... More

The hotel is located in Pocitos, a safe and enjoyable area. The structure is ok, with good breakfast and comfortable rooms (standard but a bit tired). The staff was helpful and gave us good advices on restaurants, services and tourism in Montevideo. Average WIFI in the rooms, but ok in common areas, with two computers. I would reccomend it.

The location was important for me, and this was excellent. This is an older, a bit tired hotel. Rooms are old, and as for comfort, bordering on marginal. The breakfast dining area is a bit institutional, large, many tables, for Latin America, a below average buffet. If you want to spend time in your hotel, I'd probably not recommend. Very... More
