The staff is friendly and helpful. They take care of all requests for information. This includes questions on history, how to find special sites, buses to take, help with car shuttles, etc. The breakfast is to die for. Includes all drinks, a large variety of wonderful pastries, small meat and cheese sandwiches, multiple dulces for your bread or croissant, and... More

The hotel itself does fall a bit short. It's dated, that's for sure, but it's clean and close to the center. One thing that they do well, however, is breakfast. The variety and quality is better than virtually any 4 star hotel breakfast. It made me wish we were staying in Montevideo more than just one night. Who cares if... More

On a 11/14 South America rail tour. Tour booked us into this hotel for 3-nights. Single room with private bath. The bathroom was so small the door blocked the toilet. To access the toilet, one had to enter the room, lean back into the shower and swing the door shut. Behind this door a toilet and bidet are located. The... More

This is not a luxury but a good value hotel which has clearly been in service many years but is well maintained and cleaned. The location is good. Safer at night than being in historic centre which is only a few blocks away. Easy to get to from bus terminal. Take CA1 bus. Lifts are old but they work. Fittings... More

Close to the Old City, but in the centre where access to restaurants and shopping is only a few streets away. The staff were excellent from the moment of checking in to handing back the key at check out. This is an established hotel with lots of charm, from the period lifts, to the dated, but comfortable rooms, that are... More

I need to come fast at Montevideo , and try to find some hotel nearest the downtown , with good price , and I found the London Palace , that are a old hotel , but the room are reasonable , but the noise outside the room is very inconvenient , because the window is not soundproof , and the... More

I´m in total agreement with the great reviews this hotel has received. I might want to add that in the morning their cafe con leche is excellant. I usually have breakfast around eight, do some errands and return around 10AM before they close for some pastry. Their coffee is very dark and the leche is very hot. I´m ready to... More

The hotel is very good, staff is kind, excellent breakfast. Location even better, you can walk to the best place in Montevideo. The room is ok for what's offered. That's defenetely my hotel when I go to Montevideo. The only complain is that they're awful in responding mails. You send, send, send, and it's hard to get a response. Also,... More

This hotel is located in downtown Montevideo, close to Plaza Independencia and 18 de Julio avenue (just one block from hotel). Even though it is an old building, the rooms are clean, beds are confy and the front desk is very friendly. Overall this is a good deal if you want to have a good perspective about the city. I... The Internet connection is worse than in other hotels in Uruguay. The only time in the day when it's possible to hold a Skype call is during the morning; later it's simply impossible. During the morning the speed of browsing is decent; later it's at times be pretty slow. Also they have this idiotic system where after connecting to the... More
