This time we chose this hotel because we had to be near Carrasco, so location was perfect. The hotel has undergone some remodeling ( lobby ) but the rest of the hotel needs to be updated as well. The carpets are dirty, the elevator was not working ( for the past 3 months we found out!) and it is also... More

The hotel is well located, close to restaurants and shops. It is a little far from downtown, which, in my opinion, is a plus, not a disadvantage! The double glazed window in the room makes sure you get a good night's sleep, despite facing the somewhat busy 'rambla' (coastal avenue). The mattress is comfortable (not too soft, not too firm),... We stayed in this hotel over the Christmas and New Year period, so it was at the height of the season. Even with all the usual chaos of a hotel in the throes of the festive season, the staff still found the time to address our needs and help us in given suggestions and directions regarding attractions in the city... I was there in November for business. I stayed three weeks. The front desk staff is terrible, they are very rude. I came to check in at 2am, straight from the airport and the two men behind the desk could not be bothered to help me. After saying good evening, my name and that I was there to check-in, I... More

I was sent to the Hotel Cottage when my flight back to the US was cancelled, and arrived in the middle of the night. I was very impressed with the quality of the hotel and how clean and cozy it seemed. My bed was very comfortable and the food was amazing. The staff at the front desk was meh, but... More

I have spent a lot of time at this hotel and first reviewed it many years ago. Unfortunately, it keeps getting worse, and I won't be going back. Let's do a short pro's and con's list. Pro's - Walking distance to shops and restaurant (about 15 minutes by foot) - Looks modern and fresh. They recently finished major renovations. -... More

This hotel is a great option if you do not have to be close to midtown where lots of government offices are located. It will cost you approx US$15 to go to midtown from here. The hotel is separated from the beach by the busiest road in Montevideo, the rambla that connects incoming traffic with the city centre, all along... More

If in Montevideo on business Carrassco is likely to be an area that you have meetings as more financial companies move away from the old town/city centre. If this is where you meetings are then this hotel is perfect. For me location is the most important thing and this is great. On the sea front (Rambla) and a couple of... More

Kind of hotel boutique, with a backyard, an outdoor pool, and a smaller one inside a spaa. The coziest hotel where you can enjoy a view of the river, its located right across the Rambla, in front of the beach of Carrasco. Good breakfast and lunch. Unfortunately, the reception staff is not helpfull

We had a week's stay in January, 2013. Our room was a very spacious corner room with a large balcony. It faced the Rambla, which was fairly noisy at night. It had a king bed and remodeled bath ( which was small but had all the amenities). It would have been nice to have a sofa, since it was a... More
