Took a weekend off and went to Montevideo and stayed at this cool hostel downtown! The crew was good and the bedroom we got had an outdoor stairs, that isn't really a big deal. The place is cool! The environment was great! It's the good kind of hostels we would like to go.

excellent location - close to central area and near to bus routes and the sea. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful with good local knowledge. Live music entertained us one night . Federico was part of a three piece set. It's an interesting building - a former hotel - that has a good vibe. Floors in shower area could get... More

Besides veing super dirty the hotel has loud music until 1 am and they restart at 8 am because the cleaning ladies want music! Hope the cleaning ladies pay the bills and not the clients. When asking them to lower the music they dont pay attention. AVOID!!

I think this hostel was great. + great location, walking distance from almost everything + Staff is great! They are helpful, sweet and go out of their way to create a good vibe. Féderico plays guitar in the night and took us out. All guys working here a gorgeous too (hey, just saying) + Big and nice communal areas, inside... More

I stayed there one night, usually I'm not so negative, but I have to write a comment here, for guest who wanna stay in a Hostel where they can sleep. Loud Music started at around 9 pm, which is not a problem, but it didn't get turned off till 3:30 am. There was a group of people who were "singing"... More

Could have been a nice hostel if they CLOSED THE DOORS. Everyones sitting around the communal area freezing to death. As soon as the doors where closed it was much more bearable. Bike hire, what bike hire? All the bikes are broken. Outside noise travel into the rooms really well.Hostel with potential but poorly run.

We stayed here in August - granted it's winter time in South America....but lighting fires and putting on the heating didnt seem to be an option in this hostel. Other than that - it was pretty enjoyable. Dinner in the evening was a really great experience and cheap too. They sold wine by the bottle, a treat for the weary... More

As with the other el viajero hostel we stayed in, it was just a bit grubby. The double room had been cleaned, but was still not to a good standard, with the partition between the room and communal areas broken. The bathroom was mouldy and had not been cleaned (used towels and bin by toilet). No window / extractor fan... More

My husband and I stayed in the dorms which were roomy, comfortable and clean. Even though it's an old building its maintained quite well. Our room opened up to the outside seating area so when it was cold, the room also felt cold. We met lovely people and wanted to stay longer but it was a shame that the dorms... More

I spent 5 days in Montevideo and loved this option. Me and my girlfriend take a private room with bathroom. It was very clean, the brakefast is good, not with several option, but great. The service is also great. Once we asked for a information at night and guy wasn't friendly to explain. The location is in the centre city,... More
