About a 20 minute walk from the port. The hotel is located at the edge of the old town and the new part of the city. 3 min walk to Independence Plaza. Easy access to the bus network - just pay 22 pesos once on board to get to anywhere in the city. The single rooms are small with very... More

This is an okay place but I think overpriced since the rooms are small and the WiFi was not consistent. As such we only stayed a few nights to find a place more reasonably priced. It was nice that they provide extra blankets since it gets cold.

Such a nice room with high ceiling, loved it. And the receptionist (Leonardo?) were so friendly and helped us out with everything we needed. He is a vegetarian (very uncommon in this country) just like us which made him even more helpful! Great location, ok breakfast and cosy room! A lot for that price!

I originally stayed here in November of 2013 while traveling in South America. After I left, I realized I had left behind some memory cards for my camera. They kept them safe for me all the way until February when I looped back around to stay again. Great staff and location.

The staff here are really lovely - sorted everything out and made sure I had a breakfast waiting for me even at 6am pre flight. Stayed in a huge, old fashioned room overlooking the national theatre. Bathrooms are shared and its by no means 5* but its a great location, friendly staff and absolutely full of character. Choice of rooms... More

Old building with old rooms and dodgy electric, but nice lounge and decent breakfast. Wifi worked well and the staff were good. Very close to Plaza Independencia and also walking distance from the port, museums, restaurants and shopping area.

We stayed two nights in a private double room w/bathroom next to the lovely and really cool old fashioned living room with view at the Teatro Solís (room 105). Other than expected our room was totally quiet during night! The bed was comfortable and clean, so was the bathroom. Water pressure was high and the water hot. All in all... More

Beware if staying in Montevideo on a Sunday, we arrived at this time and the area around this hotel is like a ghost town - literally no one about whatsoever and it didn't feel the safest. The hotel itself is nice and like others have said the décor is great - its like staying in an old fashioned dolls house!... More

If you consider this to be a hostel (which is more what it is) than I'd give it a 4. As a hotel it gets a 3. On the plus side the folks at the front were very friendly. There was a breakfast provided, and as basic as it was it did include fruit. The old building had a lot... More
