Worst breakfast in six months travelling in South America , made a mistake of booking this hostel. Rooms were clean and staff friendly , but was expensive and thinks it is the Hilton by the way it charges . The hostel is central to the city and seems safe at night . Should have read the reviews on trip adviser... More

The only good thing is that is close to the center.... Anything else.... My friend and I booked a room without to know that at the end was on the basement, on the next building.... Dirty sheets, no AA or ventilator in a roon with no windows and just one pc for a fulllllll hostel.

Really good hostel close to town but still tranquil. Lots of hangout space, in the lounge room talking to staff and other people staying there, around the kitchen and up on the balcony (aparentely good in the morning to listen to music and meditate before your day :) ) Staff very friendly and helpful, people who were staying there at... I think it's an old building, so staying at Red Hostel had a bit of a nostalgic feeling to it, and I quite enjoyed my stay. The hostel has a nice kitchen and terrace, really good breakfast, and a magnificent fireplace. I was there during the off-season, so not many travelers meant I had a nice room to myself. The... More

I stayed at RedHostel for 4 days with my boyfriend. It was excellent option because It's close to great points of Montevideo. Intendencia Municipal (panoramic city view), Centro de Fotografia de Montevideo and Museo de la Historia del Arte are points located on the same street. There is the Mercado de la Abundancia where you can buy artcrafts and eat typical... I found one of the best staff ever in this hostel!!! Also have a great bathrooms, clean rooms and the biggest roof I ever know, the best option in Montevideo. There's a lot of stores near the hostel, you can ask Jesper for a great place to eat chivito, dance, drink, etc. The dorms are comfortable and clean, maybe the... More

Red hostel is a good choice if your time is limited in Montevideo. It's situated in the centre of the city, in the new town, close to everything in the city. The staff is really nice and helpful, tells you everything you want to know. Dorms are okay, clean and comfortable. I missed some fan so the night was really... More

The hostel is located in the Centro and close to Montevideo's main attractions, but there are a few factors that gives a negative shadow to the hostel. First, the rooms are not clean. We stayed in room 11, which is a 4-bed mixed dorm and the roof was dripping water, and that too directly over an electric socket. We complained... More

Overpriced place. It is a hostel so one can expect that it is not the ambience of a hotel and with many young people it can be noisy. I stayed in a single room, next to a dorm. But I do not expect that it is allowed by the hostel that about 10 persons in this dorm continue to party... More
