Our tour operator, Imagine Latin America, had booked us in here as part of a two day one night Sacred Valley excursion. We saw Ollantaytambo the next day and it was much nicer than Yucay but Yucay made more sense in terms of the itinerary. The rooms were fine but completely separate from the main complex so you have to... More

The room was large and comfortable with a window opening onto a manicured garden. The whole complex felt like I imagined a Spanish casa would look - an old stone façade with a courtyard which brings you to the reception of more modern standard. A cosy bar with fire on one side and the dining room on the other with... More

After travelling with altitude sickness this place provided a welcome relief to restore myself. I loved it it is by far one of the best places I have stayed. It isn't near anything exciting but the river walk and quiet atmosphere relaxes you ready to take on the rest of Peru

Casona Yucay is a fine old Spanish building with its own beautiful gardens. Simon Bolivar once gave a speech from one of the hotel's balconies ! The staff were warm and welcoming and the bedroom I had was huge and contained fine old carved wooden furniture. The breakfast and dinner I had were both of a high standard. It was... More

Dear Alex: We are very happy to hear you learned about the history of our colonial house and that you enjoyed our rooms, food, orchard and beautiful gardens. We spent two nights at Casona de Yucay. It is a lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. The gardens are extensive and peaceful. There is plenty of space to walk or to sit and enjoy the gardens and the mountains. The rooms were comfortable and clean.
