Stayed here with an OAT tour in October 2008. This hotel is located in the sacred valley in the tiny village of Yucay, so it's very quiet and rural. Nothing to see or do in the town, but a great location for exploring the sacred valley. This hotel was converted from a hacienda, and the owners did an excellent job... more

We spent 3 nights here in May, 2008 and were very pleased. The grounds are beautiful, the room ample size and clean, service friendly, breakfast buffet excellent. Dinner satisfactory though not as good, or upscale, as La Sonesta hotel across the street. Hotel made good arrangements for local taxis, including for tours to Moray and salt mines of Maras. Location... more

September 13. 2007 My husband and I are world travelers and stayed in every type of hotel and motel imaginable. This hotel is truly one of the nicest hotels we have stayed through the world. Though somewhat expensive, it is worth every penny as far as comfort, cleanliness, safety, and service. I would recommend staying in this hotel over any... more

It's a basic hotel in the small, quiet and remote town of Yucay, along the road to the train station (to go to Machu Picchu). There's only one other hotel in town (the Sonesta), right across the street. The grounds of the hotel and setting is quite nice. The rooms are very simple (and no TV). Many bugs, spiders and... more

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and it was very comfortable and clean. The prices for the retaraunt are not cheap, but we felt very safe and cozy here! I would reccommend if you don't have a tight budget. more

We stayed two nights at this warm and comfortable property. The gardens are spectacular with a great view of the Andes. The room was comfortable and relatively spacious and the breakfast buffet was good. more

We traveled to Yucay with our three children (9, 6 and 3) and loved our stay at La Casona. The gardens are beautiful, filled with lovely flowers and fresh herbs and vegetables that will eventually make their way into the dining room. We stayed in the duplex room -- the upper room with a king bed and the lower room... more

To a large extent we would agree with most of the previous reviews, but just differ in the interpetation somewhat. First the setting. The outside gardens are beautiful (see photo). The old house is also very pretty. The rooms though are mainly in a new wing (two levels), are big, with large windows, good sized bathrooms, pleasant enough but definitely... more

I'd say after visiting a large portion of Peru that this place was very overrated and expensive. They serve a very nice breakfast!, but dinner buffets were $14/person (expensive for Peru when you can get a large meal for $3-4). I'd have to agree that it is extremely remote. There is nothing within walking distance, but you can take a... more

The hotel had a lovely courtyard setting and the place had a really clean feel to it, surrounded by mountains it was a great location. The area is so remote it does not have anything apart from two local TV channels so make sure you take a book. The bar and restaurant were nice. One thing to point out though... more
