Of the 30 nights we spent in South America, Sol y Luna proved to be one of the most delightful and charming experiences. Sol y Luna was established in 1996 when its proprietors fell in love with the Sacred Valley of the Incas and determined to forge their place in Urubamba among the mountains, rivers and glaciers and all nature... This beautiful property is adorned with serene walking paths lined with brilliant colored flowers. The hummingbirds zip past to drink of the nectar. The casitas are well furnished and comfortable. A special treat was the hot water bottle placed on each side of the bed when they did the turn down service. I experienced altitude sickness our first night here... More

My girlfriend fell in love with Sol y Luna and wanted to write the review - I think she captured the essence of Sol y Luna... Let me start this review with the one and only change/improvement that I would make to this wonderful oasis and that is to add another mirror to the room as the one in the... More

Quirky in style, and not to our taste, this hotel was recommended by our tour organiser and was one of the least successful of our experiences on this trip. The bungalows are heated by underfloor heating, which wasn't working. The hotel did light our log-burner for us and provided hot water bottles for our beds, but the in-room experience was... More

The hotel consists of individual bungalows, decorated beautifully with every comfort. The entire property has beautiful gardens and walking paths. Free water in the rooms is a nice touch. Free internet is only available in the lobby and at the restaurants. The location is very remote with nothing around it but the property itself is beautiful. We were there for... More

We enjoyed a 2 night stay en route to Machu Picchu during our tour of South America. Set in beautiful gardens surrounded by wonderful scenery this is such a peaceful place to be, disturbed only by the sound of songbirds. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with good bathroom. Food was good - breakfast and dinner - and all... More

Even though we stayed in at least two other hotels that were supposedly "grander" during our trip, this was easily our favourite hotel during our two week trip. The casita was wonderful, one enormous double bed downstairs and two double beds upstairs on the mezzanine floor. The bathroom was great, modern and well appointed. The gardens were beautifully cared for,... More

We had two nights here. The accommodation is in small spacious bungalows with excellent bathrooms. You walk down to your room through lovely gardens and wake to bird song. Hot water bottles in the bed at night made a difference. The staff are friendly and attentive, without being obtrusive. Food was good and we had a snack one night and... More

Lovely hotel tucked away up a lane. Individual bungalows with huge rooms and nice marble tiled bathrooms. Feels very Spanish. Lovely mural over each bed. Personally addressed hand written welcome card on bed on arrival. Hot water bottle in bed when you return from dinner.......lovely homely touch. Very nice restaurant with 5 star service and menu. We were given complimentary... More

The landscaped gardens in different colored flowers are set against mountains. The spacious bungalows are well decorated in Inca style folk art. Truly a great experience. With such luxury, however, we were surprised not to have a coffee maker and only a single bar of soap despite such a large tub, separate shower, large dual sinks, and many extra towels... More
