My son and I had a perfect stay here. The gardens are beautiful. The adobe casitas are quiet, perfectly and beautifully appointed. The attention to conservation and ecology is in keeping with the sense of Pachamama that infuses the Sacred Valley. Attentive and knowledgeable owners. A sanctuary which is the ideal place to stay when you are exploring. We loved... More

Casa Colibri lies in a quiet lane on the edge of Urubamba, hidden from view behind a high wall. The casitas are of a very traditional adobe construction under shallow, tiled roofs and arranged informally, effectively enclosing a large private garden. The garden is extensively planted with native and cultivated shrubs and flowers and was ablaze with colour when we... More

We stayed at Casa Colibri for 3 nights and my only regret is we couldn't stay longer! Barbara, the owner, is amazing! Even before we got there, she was always super responsive with emails and gave us advice for things to do in the area-going way above and beyond. When we arrived we were greeted by the staff; Barabra, Rita... More

First of all Edwin and Rita are incredibly friendly and welcoming. I only stayed 1 night, but Casa Colibri was very accommodating and had everything I needed. My girlfriend and I felt very at home and very safe. Make sure to check out all the beautiful flowers and the Hummingbirds!

What a fantastic place to acclimate and begin our 18 day journey around the Sacred Valley. My husband, son and I spent our first 4 days in Peru here just relaxing in the lovely gardens, watching the hummingbirds and soaking in the beautiful mountain views. Barbara and Robert are truly hospitable and caring hosts. Casa Colibri is an authentic eco... More

Me and my parents stayed in the lovely casitas of Robert and Barbara on their first night in Peru. All 3 of us absolutely loved the peacefulness, their sustainable approach, their stories and actually all of it. The enthusiastic stories of Barbara about their garden, and just the entire atmosphere in their lodge. I highly recommend their lodge for everyone... More

We stayed here in May. The hosts - Barbara and Robert - were friendly, welcoming and informative. The grounds of Casa Colibri are stunningly beautiful and very peaceful. Casa Colibiri is a great central location for exploring the sacred valley - and infact just up the hill above the lodge is an Inca ruin. We would definitely return to Casa... More

Robert and Barbara started looking after us months before we arrived, answering questions and providing advice on what to bring, what to wear and where to go. When we arrived in Cusco they had a taxi waiting for us that was well maintained and well driven. The fair was a reasonable S100 (about £25) to transfer us to the Casa... More

Casa Colibri is the ideal location from which to explore Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. The lodge is surrounded by incredible mountain scenary and contains some of the most lush and beautiful gardens anywhere. It's owned and operated by Barbara (who is a delight!) and her husband Robert (who wasn't there during our stay). They purchased the property a... More

Such a gorgeous space...fantastic garden with a pet rabbit running around, lovely cabins that are both simple and perfect and the greatest hosts. Barbara and Robert are friendly, helpful and a pleasure to be around. They arranged a driver for us while we were in the Urubamba area, recommended some great restaurants and helped us to feel very comfortable. Barbara... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa Colibri eco-Lodge is centrally located just outside Urubamba, close to all the archeological sites in the Sacred Valley. Trains to Machu Picchu are only 20 minutes away. It's at a much lower altitude, (2900 mtrs) than Cuzco, (3400 mtrs) so it's perfect for your acclimatization. The casitas are sited around a large central garden with native trees, winding paths and scented pergolas. The lodge is our project in sustainable living. For us this means doing our best to conserve resources for future generations, avoiding waste and living in harmony with our environment. We have created a series of thriving organic kitchen and flower gardens hosting wildlife from hummingbirds and parrots to bees and butterflies! Special interest groups are more than welcome... Our yoga groups appreciate the purpose-built meditation room and the tranquility of the gardens, and foodies always leave wishing they'd booked a longer stay :)Above all Casa Colibri aims to be a relaxing and homely base, from which to explore all the wonderful sites around the Sacred Valley. ... more   less
