Great hotel in an amazing location with spacious and tastefully decorated rooms; just a five minute walk to the center of Ollantaytambo. Beautiful gardens. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. One thing that needs to be improved is the restaurant - nice decor , but the food is only average and the restaurant staff definitely needs some training. Greeting... More

The hotel is located close to the main railway station but the series of lodges which form the hotel are well protected from the noise outside. The local town is nearby and the town contains a number of simple bars and restaurants; although there is no hotel shuttle it is a couple of minutes ride in the tuk tuks which... More

Stayed 2 nights here... Rooms were clean & decoration above average.. The hotel is owned by the former Peru volley ball champion who is now a politician... it DOES NOT reflect well on her !!!!!!! The staff (except for the reception) were indifferent, surly & rude. The food in the restaurant (which had been recommended) was cold, poorly presented &... More

After a long day of hiking and climbing along dirt and rocks and steps on mountain trails we discovered this wonderful welcoming place. It's right next to the train station where you can head to Machu Picchu, or Cuzco. The rates were so much lower than expected after walking thru the gate and onto the property. It looks like it... Ollantaytambo is a small frontier town geared up for back-packers, so the Pakaritampu was a really nice surprise in a stunning setting surrounded by mountains. Lush well groomed gardens with the rooms dotted round like vibrant coloured garden houses. The bar and restaurant are a bit olde world last century throwback, lovely lounge with a big fire for the cold... More

Awesome Peru hotel, a country where awesomeness doesn't happen in every hotel. Ollantaytambo is last stop on the train to Macchu Picchu. The hotel is a very quick walk to the train station and center of town. The rooms were clean, cozy and comfortable. We rented a 4WD in Cuzco and drove to Ollantaytambo so we could explore the country... More

The bathroom was shocking - it was not clean. The shower did not drain well. Bedding did not look clean either. Pillow looked dirty, so I laid one of my extra t-shirts to sleep. On the door, there was a statement saying that they tally number of towels so don't think about taking one. I booked this hotel thinking we... More

Location...location....location. The Hotel Pakaritampu was one of the first lodges we stayed at outside of a major city in Peru. The setting was stunning and the location was unrivaled. The hotel is a very quick walk to the train station and center of town. The rooms were clean, cozy and comfortable; the staff went out of their way to answer... More

We came here after hiking in the Andes and suffering from altitude sickness - also hadn't had a hot shower in a few days. This place was a haven and in such beautiful setting. Great service, clean rooms with nice beds and showers - man the showers :-) I actually stayed here in 2007 but tripadvisor only offered me to... More

Guess the title says it all Our main gripe was there was no heater and winter temperatures drop to near zero at night so you really need to dress warmly and huddle under your blankets. Getting up in middle of night for loo breaks was freezing, you can imagine. Or morning showers. Bathroom would get very wet due to the... More
