We stayed three nights. We felt at home in the quiant architecture of this historic hotel. White stucco, dark wood beams, shutters and doors. Simple furnishings and Windy Weeks beautiful paintings adorning the walls. We enjoyed the courtyard and therestaurant served wonderful meals and delicious breads. Best shower I had in Peru. The service was wonderful. Oh I was concerned... more

We stayed at the Albuergue with our two young children and found the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms were very clean, well decorated, comfy warm beds and great hot showers. Food was delicious. We also very much appreciated their commitment to reducing waste by not offering plastic bottled water and encouraging guests to use re-usable water containers that they... more

We found El Albergue to be perfect for what we used it for--a relaxing stop on the way back to Cusco from Aguas Calientes. Ollantaytambo was a fantastic town and we would have liked to spend more time there at the expense of Aguas, which was not anywhere near as nice. The hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable, and represented... more

Regretfully my brother and I only had one night here. The place was beautiful! We were concerned with it being so close to the train station but we didn't hear anything. The rooms great, the people wonderful, the food out of this world. We were going to walk to another hotel for dinner but after having our complimentary pisco sour... more

After two nights in El Albergue, we decided this place was overrated and pretentious. On the positive side, this B&B, run by an American ex-pat who we never saw, is clean, stylish, and has comfortable rooms that are tastefully decorated. It has a kind of "hip" quality is that more American than Peruvian. That's ok. On the downside, however, much... more

My husband and I stayed at El Albergue for three nights in May and had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend staying in Ollantaytambo and at El Albergue. Ollantaytambo is a small, charming town with beautiful scenery. There are so many positive things to say about El Albergue: it's proximity to the train, the cozy restaurant with delicious food... more

Our travel research before our Perú trip told my wife and I about Ollantaytambo, a unique Inca town continuously inhabited since the 15th century, At 9,000 feet elevation, Ollantaytambo was an appealing base for our week in the Sacred Valley. Since childhood, I have had a special interest in the Inca world. At El Albergue, we found everything we could... more

Paradise in Ollantaytambo! The staff and cleanliness was superb! The location was secure, just inside of the gates for Peru Rail. However, the location is a couple of blocks from the main square. Nonetheless, the tuk tuk taxis are abundant and willing to take you to the main square for as little as 2 soles or about .66 cents. The... more

We spent two nights at the Albergue. Our room was quite rustic, but adequate. The bathroom very small and difficult for two people. The view of the trains and having a drink at the station as trains came and went was entertaining. The dining room was adequate. It was too cool when we were there to enjoy the hammocks or... more

Peru can be a little overwhelming. Specially if like us, you are in a bit of a rush to get from one set of wonderful archaeological sites to the next. It's a big country with a lot of regional variation and it really deserves a long and slow visit. The Albergue was perfect to make us slow down and appreciate... more
