All in the same 24 hours we went from loving it to hating it and back again. Lots of positives like location, wifi, service and breakfast. Then the negatives like lack of heating, poor room lighting and intermittent hat water... Grumble grumble. Overall I not necessarily recommend this hotel.

We had a mixed bag of a stay. The hotel is incredibly central - no more than a 5 minute walk from anything. This is good and bad. It's located right on the main Cusco to Machu Picchu road, and opposite the road to the station. The traffic can get insanely busy, which is an experience in itself. It also... More

The hotel reminds me of a Villa! Rooms are spacious and bathrooms are modern. My only disappointment & therefore the average rating is that at checkout we were asked to pay in USD & we are not American! We booked online and once again there was a difference from the online quotation. The reception staff member insisted and actually had... More

We absolutely loved staying in Ollantaytambo! The hotel it's self is across from some wonderful restaurants, our favourite being Hearts Cafe. From our balcony you could see the ruins and there is a stream that lulls you to sleep. For a special touch the towels were folded like swans on the bed. Breakfast was delicious! This is the only hotel... More

We had the room in the back left of the hotel right on the river, first floor, with a 1 million dollar view of the ruins. We watched the sun set over them and rise on them all from the comfort of our private patio! Get this room! Breakfast was great, location of the hotel was great, wifi was great,... More

After a hectic travel to Cusco and Amazon Rainforest, me and my wife wanted to spend couple of days at Ollantaytambo. Everyone said its not worth to spend more than 1 night over there and its mainly as a stop over on the way to Machu Picchu. We spend 3 nights in this town and our stay at Hotel Sol... More

Our second time in Ollantaytambo and first time at Hotel Sol, selected by our nonprofit for mission travelers. Great choice, right next to the bridge leading to the main ruin and right on the river as well. The price is hard to beat, and the breakfast room upstairs is a bright glassed in space overlooking the river. The hotel is... More

Superb hotel to stay at the night before Machu Picchu. Private driver available. Take away breakfast for those leaving early for the ruins. Luggage storage available and friendly, english speaking front desk staff.

Large, clean rooms. Hot showers, nice breakfast. Very close to the train station and the main square. The young receptionist (with perfect English) couldn't have been more helpful and was very kind when one of our party was unwell and did everything possible to help, calling a doctor with a minimum of fuss and helping out with translations. Highly recommended.

A clean friendly hotel. They kept a light on in the courtyard that shines into the room at night. Takes over 3 min to get warm water. Internet is spotty at night. Noisy during soccer matches due to a TV in lounge.
