Slightly late review from my visit last year August 2014. We stayed for only one night but wish we had more time. I was slightly hesitant to book here due to the significant lower costs compared to other places in town. Decided to gamble due to great reviews here on TA. It was a good decision. We had trouble with... More

It is a shame that, when you pay 47$/n, you get a 7 sq.meter room, including bathroom, supposed to be a double room and do not get even a hotwater tap at your washbasin, just one tap for cold water !! Quite easy at time of shaving ... Not bad place, but overpriced !!!

Good: I was in a very charming room with a view of the ruins of Olltantaytambo, located adjacent to the old part of this wonderful inca town. Poor: The breakfast room was freezing cold and I did not even sit down but preferred to return to my room.

This was a great place to stay in Ollantaytambo. The staff were pleasant, the breakfast was standard (eggs, roll, jam, coffee, juice). Rooms were clean and warm enough for the cold nights. I don't think there was heating but the room was significantly warmer than the outside and the blankets were warm enough. We mainly used it as a place... More

Easy walking to the plaza, restaurants and ruins. A bit of a hike to train station, suggest have Reception arrange taxi. The property has gorgeous gardens with irrigation channels throughout. It overlooks the river, with direct views of the Temple of Ollantaytambo. Imagine waking up as the sun creeps over the mountains as you gaze at these ancient architectural, astronomical,... More

The hostal is very conveniently located a few blocks from the train, restaurants and the town center. The rooms were clean with few amenities. The staff at reception was very helpful and knowledgeable. Only negative was the busloads of tourists who show up daily for breakfast and take over the dining room. Apparently, the hostal has a deal to provide... More

Lovely hotel in Ollantaytambo. Great garden. It's in a quiet place within walking distance of the town square and within walking distance of the Ollantaytambo ruins. It's a bit of a hike from the train station, but doable (however, beware of walking from the train station into town with a heavy pack, it's a steady incline…). Ollantaytambo is super charming... Our family of four spent two weeks traveling through Peru. Even though Hostal Iskay was the least expensive place we stayed, it was our favorite!! The grounds were amazing; the view of the ruins was fantastic; the rooms were small but beautifully furnished (fresh flowers, alpaca blanket and down duvets, comfortable beds and pillows); everything was in easy walking distance... This is a very helpful place to know about in Peru. They helped us get tickets and trains for the pilgrimage to Machu Picchuu and we only stayed there on the way back! this is a very good hostel where you feel you are looked after and everyone genuinely cares about whats going on with you and also with their... Stayed here three nights...two nights and on return from MP. If to do over would have stayed here the entire time. Note I am a single lady that stayed in a basic room off the lobby...twin bed with table and one chair. No furniture to place clothes. There are a few pegs to hang clothes. There is water in lobby...
