First, this is really a lovely hotel with large, clean rooms and beautiful grounds. The mattresses were firm and comfortable. The service was helpful and friendly and we enjoyed our free breakfasts here although we didn't care for the coffee. The eggs are made to order and I loved the orange muffins and breads. The negatives include very spotty wifi... More

Stayed at Hostal Samanapaq for 4 nights while visiting the Sacred Valley. Our room was comfortable and spacious. A space heater was provided to take a chill out of the air. We had plenty of hot water in a small ensuite bathroom. The staff was very professional and friendly. Breakfast was included with the room and offered a selection of... More

After arriving on a train at around 7 in the evening, we walked up to the hotel. What was behind the walls was a real surprise. Checking was fast and efficient. The rooms were clean and big enough for 2 people. There is also a nice common area, which was good as there are not tv's in the rooms. The... More

We were three people with great expectations about the Samanapaq Hotel and were very disappointed, mostly due to the lack of professionalism from the part of the owner which reflected in the lack of service from its staff. The location is attractive and the structure is adequate but the basic know how is missing. Our modern bathroom lacked hot water and... More

Booked the hotel Friday morning via Hotels.com and received a personalised email from the hotel. This was extremely useful as I was then able to arrange pick-up from Cuzco and transfer for my wife and I to the hotel. The hotel itself is very close to the main square. The bedrooms were of a good standard (for Peru) and the... More

So glad we stayed here and not in aguas calientes. The grounds, rooms and breakfast are all amazing. The town is an unspoiled Incan treasure not to be missed. Glad we spent two nights here-/arrived by air to cusco and we were picked up by patient driver from samanapaq hotel. Enjoyed the lovely drive down into Sacred Valley with many... More

The place was o.k. This is the town to stay in where you pick up the train for the trip to Machu Picchu. The hotel was about a 10 minute or so walk from the train. About 5 minutes from the town square where most of the restaurants are. The hotel does not have a lot of bells and whistles.... More

We only stayed one night before the Inca Trail, but I would have loved to stay longer. The hotel is hidden behind a wall, but when you enter, the gardens; water feature; the buildings themselves are gorgeous! Our room had amazing views of more gardens & the montains. I couldn't have been happier. The log fire in the sitting area... More

My wife and I travel a great deal, and although I have never before submitted a negative review of any of the many hotels we have stayed in, I must make an exception in the case of Hotel Samanapaq in Ollantaytambo, Peru. Over the years, our lodgings have ranged from modest to luxurious, and we are not especially critical. But... More

Dear Mr: We regret the experience that you and your friends had with us, but I would pass on to detail what happened. For the day March 15, the Hotel had multiple reservations under different names, most of them made through Expedia. For the day March 16 the Hotel had no availability. On March 14, you and your companions, arrived... More

Stayed here one night after a Sacred Valley tour before heading out for Machu Picchu. The town Olly itself is tiny but really quaint and we were glad we decided to stay the night. This place fits right in to Olly's overall vibe. Pros: Beautiful grounds (with hammocks for relaxing)/ great communal lounge area In room heaters (great for the... More
