The reception, bar and restaurant area for this hotel is modern. However the rooms are not as modern, but are clean and comfortable. The location is great for walking around Aguas Calientes and getting to the bus to go up to Macchu Picchu. We ended up eating lunch and dinner at the hotel, and the food was tasty and well... More

We ate dinner here during our stay in Aguas Calientes and thought the food was fantastic, pisco sours were excellent and waitstaff very friendly. Before our trip, I emailed the hotel to see if they had any availability and never heard back. I didn't pursue it any further and we ended up staying elsewhere, so I cannot comment on the... More

Stayed toward end of September 2011. We found the hotel to be more than adequate--nicely kept, clean, modern, and eco-friendly (tickled by the clever use of the shower curtain to encourage water conservation!). The beds were comfortable with cushy comforters. Located near plenty of restaurants and local markets all within walking distance. Found the on-site restaurant and bar (and the... More

Terrific service -easy check in. Kept our bags in storage. Rooms are plain but very comfortable. Good showers/bathroom - clean, hot water, everything worked. Beds are fine. Dinner was really good - food well prepared and tasty. I was sick (Montezuma's Revenge) and they found me some soup from a nearby restaurant that was really good and hit the spot.... More

This hotel was booked by my tour company, it is idealy located very close to the train and bus station. Representatives from the hotel met me and collected luggage which was duly transported through the market across the bridge and into the hotel. Check in can be a bit slow however this is fairly normal in Peru as passports are... More

Just a 30 minute bus ride into Aguas Calientes where all the Machu Picchu hotels are found, we were thrilled to arrive at this hotel. Super modern, friendly helpful staff, and really beautiful bright modern rooms with comfy beds, nice new decor, and fluffy duvets. A really treasure..... Many stairs around the hotel, so be aware of that. We didn't... More

Horrible hotel and very bad service!! The night I spent there they had no wifi and they did nothing to fix it!! On the morning we had to take a shower with cold water!! When we said that at the reception they said that they had checked and that everything was fine... They did nothing to solve my complaints. More

I was booked at El Mapi through my tour company during a private tour of Peru. I stayed here for one night after having spent the day at Machu Picchu. When I arrived at the train station in Aguas Calientes, someone from the hotel was at the station to pick up my bags. I'm not sure if someone from the... More

After a laborious day at Macchu Picchu comming home to ElMapi's hot tub , free pisco sour and dinner was really relaxing. Catching up on my sleep in the comfortable bed and clean room re energized me to continue on the next leg of the trip. El Mapi is the best option in Macchu Picchu , if your travel agency... More

We stayed here in a triple share room in Dec. The location was good and service was consistent. A good place to stay in Aguas Calientes, you can walk to the main street to have lunch or dinner if the hotel restaurant fare is not to your taste. More
