We spent two nights here and loved the location. When we arrived on the Vistadome at Aguas Callentes there was a lodge representative to take care of our bags, organise bus tickets to Machu Picchu and take us to the bus station. On arrival we were given coffee while we checked in and stored some of our hand luggage before... More

This hotel is in a unique location - right at the top of Machu Picchu. It is a very nice hotel . The best about it, however, is the stuff -very well trained, very professional, and genuinely kind. However, there is absolutely no reason for the prices to be as high as they are. One feels that the desire to... More

Our feeling after staying here for the night is that it is a very comfortable youth hostel, as that is the feel it has. It is not a 5-star hotel by today's standards, although it commands a 5-star price. The bedroom was very small, the bathroom tiny. Yes there are fluffy towels and house slippers, but it does not stand... More

The Belmond Sanctuary Lodge is wonderful, unique, and not worth the astronomical price. You will be paying for the location. It is the only lodging option at the entrance to Machu Picchu park. Everything else is in the little town 2,000 below in the valley or 3 hours away in Cuzco. The Lodge has only 42 rooms, and they cannot... More

Only 9 meter far from main gate. Good room, restaurant and service is very good. Day room option is a clever choice for late check out and with a nice view of Machu Picchu! very few rooms but worth every dollar! A must!

If you can swing it this is the right place to stay. The rooms are just fine but not outstanding. The meals and service are good too, considering where you are. And that is the key. The location is beyond wonderful and allows you to have the best possible access to Machu Picchu. Although it rained hard the first morning... More

If you can afford it, do it. You only come to Macchu Picchu once and this is the best experience you can possibly have. This is more like a ski lodge than a luxury hotel (and don't expect fast wifi!), but it is just perfect for the location, small, intimate and very, very friendly. What it lacks in facilities it makes... More

We decided to splash out as we will only visit Macchu Pichu once and as the Sanctuary Lodge is right opposite the entrance it seemed to be the perfect hotel. Please do not listen to any negative reviews of this hotel. It was amazing luxury from the moment we got off the bus. The staff were superb and made you... More

Watching the sun rise and set before the buses come, having Machu Picchu to your self when the clouds part, having a drink on the patio overlooking Waynapichu are all memorable perks of staying here. Actually made a photo from a dining table with Machu Picchu ijn the background an xMas card because the backdrop was ridiculously beautiful.

This is a memorable hotel. It feels more like a safari lodge than a luxury hotel but that's what you'd expect in its location. Since the lodge is at the top of the bus route, it is the only thing around once the Machu Picchu park closes at 5:30. From 6:00am to 6:00 pm the area immediately in front of... More
