The best part about the hotel is obviously it's location. However, given the price you will pay to stay here - it's better to stay down the hill. The staff is neither warm nor particularly interested in serving you. While the food and drinks were good, the rooms were small and moderately furnished, the beds are hard as rock and... More

This was our choice for overnighting at Machu Picchu. The property is not as luxurious as the other Belmond properties, either in Peru or the rest of the world, but it is naturally restricted by the limitations of what can be done right next to a World Heritage site. The location is superb, but the rooms are small and basic... More

We stayed 2 nights in the extremely well located Sanctuary Lodge while touring Machu Picchu National Park. The lodge is all inclusive. Highlights - They serve cocktails to you at the hot tub under the stars with a view of the misty mountains. Towels and robes were super soft and the mini-bar items are "free," no extra charge. The hotel... More

Staying at the Belmond Sanctuary Lodge right outside the gate to Machu Picchu is the icing on the cake for this trip. It will set you back about a $1000 a night (all-inclusive) but if you can swing it you will love the extra opportunity for sightseeing without the crowds. Rooms are nice but it's really all about the location.... More

Staying at the Belmond allowed us to see Machu Picchu at sunrise, avoid the crowds of tourists mid day and enjoy the site after the final bus had left which made the experience much more enjoyable. Yes the hotel is expensive, and no they do not warn you prior to booking that you must plan to arrive while the bus... More

If you can get a reservation and if you can afford it, book one night at this hotel and have the Machu Picchu site to yourselves in the morning at dawn. If not at least have a meal at the place and relax before your train. It's a wonderful, friendly operation.

This is simply a rip off !!! out dated rooms, way too over[rice Doesn't pay respect to the other Belmond properties in the world.... it's equivalent to a poor Sheraton at best ! The owner should think twice about guest experience and how he damages the brand with this terrible hotel.... Think about the Monestario in Cusco or the Palacio... More

Is it worthwhile to stay over at the site of yMachu Picchu. This was my third trip there, having stayed and not stayed previously. If you are going to spend the night, then best to do it here because of convenience despite expense. You can see the site early and late in the day when the crowds have greatly diminished.... More

This hotel is extremely unique. To start with understand to get to hotel you have to fly into Cusco. Take a bus for 2.5 hours then a train ride 1.5 hours then a bus up the hill .5 hours. So just to get here plan a day and a day just for leaving. Now that you've made it lets point... More

It really is worth it to stay here for a night while visiting Macchu Picchu for the amazing experience. It was so nice to walk out the front door of the hotel and be about a minute from the entrance of park. The food was great at the breakfast and the lunch buffet. Dinner was delicious and some local musicians... More
