I had read so many good and bad reviews of Gringo Bill's that I just had to see it for myself. We spent two nights here and in my opinion, it was adequate for our needs. If I could plan the trip again, I would only have spent one night in Aguas Calientes, not because of the hotel, but because... More

Is this the best place to stay while in Machu Picchu Pueblo/Aguas Calientes... no. Will you make do for one or two nights here... probably. At a 100 USD a night, this place is much cheaper than the two other luxury options in town, and way cheaper than the one on site at Machu Picchu. Not sure about the really... More

Aguas Calientes isn't a place anyone would ever visit if it weren't for Machupicchu down (up?) the road. It's a town that spurted out of tourism-fueled greed, all generic cinder blocks and plastic roof tile, without a personality of its own. Thus it's only to be expected that service everywhere--hotels, restaurants, shops--lacks the demure charm so evident elsewhere in Perú.... More

We were on the top floor of this quirky hostel and as such able to enjoy the magnificent views. The cloud forest however makes the area very damp and although our room was clean and the beds comfortable, it did smell a bit musty. The breakfast was very basic. The hotel location is very good as its in the centre... More

This hotel was booked for us as part of our tour. The hostal resembles a backpackers type of accommodation. Our room was dated and smelt damp. The bathroom was separated from the bedroom by a curtain. We only had one night here before MP so did not spend long in the room. The breakfast was mediocre. There was a spa... More

We spent the night at Gringo Bill's on the way to Machu Picchu. The reservation was made by a travel agent and we were wary that a place with a name like this would be little more than hostel-type lodging. Nonetheless, we made our way to the hotel after arriving on the train and were warmly greeted by the check... More

This hotel looks better on the internet. Decent rooms, not so clean, damp, old furniture recently painted. Everything is expensive in Machu Picchu. So, if Gringo Bills is one of the best... i can't imagine the other ones.

This is a nice place but find the prices just a tad high (not too high just a tad) for what you get. The rooms are nice and relatively clean. I say relatively clean because they missed some spots in the bathroom. But generally speaking it is clean and not bad enough to have the staff come in and clean... More

A very nice and good looking hotel with good beds but very sorry to say; a poor service. The lady at the reception was more interested in her films at her computer then to give a good service. When we came in the breakfast room at 8.50 everything was already put away and were not amused that they had to... More

A quick night's stop before the ascend to Machu Picchu. We had no booking and just walked in after dark once we reached the villaged. The place is supposed to be one of the best in the little town. And indeed The room was very decent, gave you a good feeling. Spacious, had tv, heater, powerful hot water. The beds... More
