Gringo Bills' is legendary in this fronteer town. I like the location: center of town, right of the main square, but not on a crazy tourist street. We had a great room, with lots of light and a great shower and bed but .. it wasn't super clean. They were renovating and there was mortar all over the place. They... More

Location was not bad. Wifi was good. Rooms were poorly aired, mold on the bathroom ceiling. Room was very moist. Sleeping was impossible because of the terrible noise of the rain falling on the roofs. There was some kind of leak. Hot tub was empty and dirty. Pool was not there, just a small tub which was also empty. Roof... More

Gringo Bill's Hotel/Hostel is located in Aguas Calientes, the town closest to Macchu Picchu. Given the proximity to Macchu Picchu, most of the hotels in Aguas run well into the $250 - $400 range, which we did not want to spend just to say a few hours before waking up early to hike Macchu Picchu. We chose Gringo Bill's given... More

Our room was perfect. We had the cutest balcony with views of Machu Picchu and a very comfortable bed. I loved the white bedding and everything was exceptionally clean. The staff was so great - the woman let us shower after our day at Machu Picchu even though we had already checked out! The breakfast was enough to satisfy before... More

I stayed here with my wife for one night before going to Macchu Piccu. The hotel is in a great location. The bed was comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helfpul. They did forget to give us a wake-up call, so fortunately our alarm worked. The view from the room wasn't great, but we weren't there for the view.... More

My husband and I loved staying at Gringo Bill's. We had one of the highest rooms, looking out toward the city and I would recommend it. There was a large bathtub in this room and sizable patio. We had the typical breakfast and tea before hiking to Machu Picchu the next day. The owners were very kind and we loved... More

The check in was ok, the people were nice. Rooms were old, not clean, not up to date, no hot water. I can deal with dated appearances, but do expect clean and at least a warm shower. We called about the hot water, they said to give them an hour, however the next morning it wasn't fixed. My guess is... More

Dirty room, no hot water, internet doesn't work, hard bed, I could keep going but I assume you get it. The location is good, however nothing else good to say about it, this isn't even a good backpackers hotel. Avoid it.

The rooms were pretty but the place itself is poorly managed. One could only feel sorry for the poor woman at the front desk. In the US, Gringo Bill (or whatever his real name is) would have been sued by his employees: He has them working 15 - 18 hour days and they have no control over decision-making or ability... More

Good value, GREAT staff, good location, BUT no jacuzzi or soaking pool as advertised, which for me was one reason I had chosen it (and from the looks of the weathering, the jacuzzi and soak-pool had not been in operation for quite some time). The complimentary breakfast was barely adequate and basic. The rooms seemed to vary substantially within the... More
