Moved from our less than stellar hotel to this fabulous spot. Off season and I think we may have been the only people there, but it was great. Super easy everything and very helpful staff. Stayed way up with a great view of the city and I believe we could even see the river. Everything was clean, comfy, and easy.

To be perfectly honest, I was a little confused about the place at first. But that was MY FAULT: If you're visiting Machu Picchu, unless you want to pay a lot of money, you'll be staying in Aquas Calientes. I wasn't sure of that, but when I looked places up this appealed to me. Then, when we by Inca Rail... More

We spent the night here before traveling to Machu Pichu and were fully satisfied with the accommodations, beds were comfy, hot water was decent, friendly staff and the price was reasonable which is definitely hard to find in Agua Calientes. We had a great view from the small terrace attached to one of our rooms and liked the open air... More

Very indifferent staff, well, when you can even find them. We had issues with no hot water, TV didn't work, bedside lamps didn't turn on. The two hot tubs were both closed. Rather disappointing property, but I don't really know what else there is in Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu). We were forewarned that since most people only go to Machu... More

Ok beds. Ok size room. Ok shower. Ok cleanliness. Ok breakfast. There's nothing amazing to say about this place, but then from the good price there isn't too much to expect either. It's a cool little maze of rooms and, when the renovations are completed, it will be better. The rooftop terrace was closed, the cafe was closed, the spa... More

This place didn't look clean and it was very musky. Maybe because its a very open air place. You won't get much privacy because of this. The staff spoke 0 English which I wasn't mad about I know enough Spanish to survive but with a name like gringo Bill I would think a little English would be helpful. All in... More

This hotel seems to be in the midst of a remodel. The check in stunk of varnish fumes. The pool not working, the cafe not open, gift shop not open and free breakfast non existent. We were the only guest that night and they put us at the very waaaay top of the hotel??? There was no view so I... More

Great easy-going and considerate staff, good breakfast with cereal, bread, jam and I bought eggs for only 10 soles extra, secure luggage storage, love the decor - i had a huge mural artwork in my room. A bit pricey and shower was freezing, but thats fairly normal for Peru. Overall a good stay. 5* rating from me because every staff... More

I enjoyed my stay at Gringo Bill’s but I can definitely say it’s not for everyone. The hotel, or at least the room I had reminded me of some lakeside bungalows I’ve lived or stayed in, which I did enjoy The hotel does have a great location, only a few blocks away from the buses to Machu Picchu and the... To reach this hotel you have to cross the main square, go up a small street and then disappear up an alley. First impressions weren't great but the hotel was very nice indeed. The rooms seemed clean, were of a decent size, everything worked well, breakfast was good and all in all this place was very good. I can see... More
