We arrived at Agua Calientes and were taken to the hotel by our guide. We checked in, dropped off our bags, and then continued onto the bus for our ride to Machu Picchu. At Gringo Bill's we had a family room which consisted of two separate rooms, with a bathroom in the middle. It was very adequate for us for... More

The location is excellent and the staff was nice, however the rooms are not good and nothing works. In short I hated my stay there. We had no hot water, no a/c and we told the staff and they said give us one hour time after time. Pay more and stay somewhere else is my advice.

Taking into account that one does not receive much for their money in this town, perhaps this is an acceptable hotel for some. For my wife and I, frankly this place sucks! Yes the area is always humid so expect humidity - for me that doesn't include mold,or a faucet that leaks hot water 24x7. I couldn't imagine paying $250... More

I stayed at Gringo Bills in May 2012, so this post may be a little bit outdated. Gringo Bills is on the main square of Aguas Calinetes tucked up in an alley way. Our accommodation was good, a comfy bed, hot shower, and decent breakfast. This is basically as good as it gets and as close as it gets to... More

Gringo Bill's hotel is right in the square of Agus Calientes and was wonderful! My stay for 6 nights included breakfast in the morning. The staff was very kind and helpful in explaining what more the area has to office along with of course visiting/hiking Machu Picchu. I highly suggest staying for a couple of days to visit the hot... This was to be our first night spent in Peru after apx. 30 hrs of travel time. We arrived at apx. 3:00pm to check in, showed our confirmed booking but they told us that they had no room available and we would need to somehow find new accommodation. How do you put in type just how P...... Off we were.... More

We stayed at Gringo Bills one night on our visit to Machu Picchu. The hotel is full of character and is centrally located. We stayed in a junior suite on the top floor. The room was spacious, but very damp and humid (but all of Aguas Calientes is humid). The room had a very moldy odor to it – which... More

We booked gringo bill's with the intention of a brief night if sleep and then an early night to Machu Picchu. The room was fine, the rates were good. Convenient to the bus stop. I wouldn't suggest the lunches they offered, waste of money and time. Great for sleep, bad for food When we arrived pretty late night they offered... More

First heard about this place about 20-odd years ago when it was the backpackers must. Now more of a 3-star hotel; not a boutique as it is more a run of the mill with quirky floor plan and slightly over priced for what you get hotel. Rooms are fine but basic and clean. Some with shared bathroom other with en-suite.... More

The only room left was the honeymoon suite at the top of a labyrinth of staircases (Harry Potter eat your heart out!) but my daughter and I didn't complain - the bed was huge, and room spacious and the view fabulous. (This was despite their email saying 'reserving here directly one room with twin bed" - they claimed I requested... More
