The Inkaterra is the most expensive hotel in Aguas Calientes (save the lodge at Machu Picchu), and that's saying a lot. Hotel prices in Aguas Calientes are quite high, even higher than a comparable room in a major American city. However, there are some things you can't get in a major American city, and that's why we wound up staying... more

My husband and I stayed in a junior suite for 3 nights last month. We were picked up at the train station and check in was quick and easy. You get a complimentary pisco sour on arrival and each night of your stay. All meals were included and the restaurant was excellent as was the service everywhere. The decor in... more

It is a perfect place to stay while visiting Machu Picchu. You feel like you are in an elegant tree fort with lush gardens and views of the Andes. Close to a fun market to shop and pick up some textiles and jewelry from Peru. Short ride to the site of Machu Picchu. Unless you want to be within walking... more

What a delight to arrive in this hotel ! granted, it's a bit of a walk (5 min) from the train station, but its remote location makes it even quieter. The train runs in the middle, between the rooms and the cafe ; but I do not think you can NOT hear the train anywhere in Aguas Calientes. The rooms... more

The rooms are basic, and the front reception staff were nearly useless (and rude), but the grounds are lovely plus the public areas (bar, lounge + restaurant) are very nice. Food was very good, rather than excellent. There are lots of slightly less comfortable hotels, but much cheaper. This hotel will likely appeal most to over 50s seeking soft adventure. more

Everything about this was fabulous! Not only is it beautiful but the smell is just incredible in itself. The only downside we found was that we couldn't buy the coffee to take home since they only produce enough on site to serve the hotel (It was some of the best coffee we'd ever had). The rooms were charming, the staff... more

After a long day up MP we were in need of relaxation and pampering. We got to this hotel and was greeting with cold towels to refresh ourselves then taken to our room. There are a lot of steps at this hotel which is quite hard when you have climbed hundreds earlier but the grounds and sound of the river... more

The quality of the experience began when the hotel sent a staff member to take care of our baggage when we arrived at Aguas Caliente station on the train from Urubamba, so that we could proceed to Machu Pichu with just our backpaks. when we arrived tired hot and dusty back to the hotel after a fabulous day at MP... more

A great hotel, let down by an overall air of arrogance from certain staff. This is a shame as the food was the best we had in Peru and certain members of the team were lovely and courteous. The room was cosy, if a little uninspiring but was certainly not worth the price we paid. We would be quite happy... more

We have never taken so many photograhs of a hotel and its grouds. Stayed here for one night after visiting Machu Piccu. The bedroom was spacoius, clean, no television (which was not missed), good large shower. Not too sure about the slip on shoes you can buy though. This hotel was built on an old tea plantation, which we learned... more
