The hotel manager Martha was one of the nicest hotel employees that I have ever interacted with, back home or abroad. She was helpful with advice, flexible for each and every request- keeping our bags an extra day, serving breakfast late, hanging our clothes to dry after the rain, etc. she was great to talk to and was very honest... This hotel is right next to the school , which was OK for us as we are early risers (to get into the market!) however the music as the school bell goes for a while. the hotel is very basic, wifi is free but not too strong, but do-able. Plumbing wasn't the best toilets would stop running and two of... More

You only go to this area to visit the ruins at Machu Picchu and it is such a historical area they have restrictions on development, so keep in mind there aren't that many hotels to choose from. It isn't one of the hotels I would have chosen on my own, but I was travelling with my Daughters' school group and... More

Great value compared to other hostels in the area. The breakfast was good and they fed us before our hike to Machu Picchu at 5am. The staff were friendly and we felt safe leaving our belongings there. They even watched our bags when we were not staying another night. The shower was hot at times and cold at other times.

A friend and I just stayed here for 1 night. Here are some highlights: PROS - great location: close to the train station, on a main street, easy to find - we tried to leave at 3:30am to wait in line for the bus up to machu picchu. we found ourselves trapped in the lobby (front door was locked), but... I stayed here for 2 nights and would certainly recommend it. The room was very clean, the bed was comfy, the staff were friendly and the location was spot on. The bedroom only had a very small window as you can see from my photo but the room was still very light in the day. Yes I could hear the... More

Good location...near enough to the train station so that you're not breaking your back while you carry your luggage...but not so near that the train whistle wakes you. Clean rooms, clean bathrooms, hot water in the shower (yay!), nice/friendly staff, soap and a little packet of shampoo/conditioner provided, TV in the room (only 4 channels- but who goes there to...
