Amazing place, amazing location and great people! Piero and his family are so great! During my trip to Lima, in Kaminu I felt like meeting a friend and a family! I was staying two times at Kaminu- hostel. I met the great Natalie who works there, who is not just really pretty and cool as hell, but friends that I continued travelling with after my stay there as well. You have internet, TV, bar and breakfast. If you want a hostel where to actually meet people and feel like home,... More

Kaminu hostel was recommended to me through a friend. The hostel is located in a very nice and calm area. It's not right in the center of the city but very easily accessible through public transport. It's clean and quite entertaining as well and people are friendly there. The guests of the hostel are also nice and you can't get... More

We (two people) stayed in a private room at Kaminu for 5 nights. For the first few we were in their second location, an apartment about 6 blocks away. The apartment is not as nice as the main hostel for most things, especially meeting other travelers, but it was quiet and the bed was comfortable (it would be ideal for... More

When we arrived we were told that the private room we'd booked was not in the hostel at all, but "4 blocks" away - this had not been explained when we booked. We were told someone would take us there in 10 minutes... it was Saturday night so we were very keen to check out Barranco's nightlife but were left... More

We stayed in a private room and maybe that made a difference, but when we showed up after a killing 54-hour bus ride from Santiago de Chile, the reception girl was completely indifferent and the room not ready. It was empty and the cleaning lady had started, but despite the promise that the room would be done in ten minutes... More

Kitchen was filthy. Packed dorm with a single bathroom downstairs for girls. One guys bathroom all the way up on the deck. Owners/front desk were very friendly and helpful. Great location in between the beach and the main plaza in Barranco. Beds were clean.

We really weren't that impressed with this hostel compared to some of the shining reviews. At 30 soles a night for the big dorm it was reasonably priced, and it certainly did the job for a night. Located in a central area of Barranco near the main square as well as the beach, it is a small hostel with a... More

Located on Bajas de Bano, Kaminu is close to the ocean , public transportation, and several excellent restaurants. The rooms get chilly, but there are always extra blankets for the guests. Breakfast is a simple fare, but there is always plenty of it. Additionally, the showers are nice and hot!

So we arrived in the airport, couldn´t use our cash cards, as something was wrong with the machines, then half way we stopped to try and get cash out. Still no luck!Don´t know what was wrong but we were left in a pretty tricky situation with no money to pay the taxi??? Emma. who worked at the hostel, was fantastic,... More
