If your idea of travelling is Hilton etc then this is not the place for you. If however you long for something different then check in here. Barranco is safe and very quirky with lots of colonial houses still intact and is a really pleasant place to stay with a 25 min transfer time from the airport. The people here... More

The hotel could not be in a better part of Lima. Baranco is bohemian, gorgeous and safe. The room we stayed in was huge and stylish with a sunken bath tub giving the historical building a sense of modernity. The staff were all engaging and helpful - sorting out a problem we had checking in to a flight very efficiently.... More

Because of flight delays and without our luggage (in airport connections from Mexico City) we arrived late on our first evening, as we were met by a tour guide, at the airport, and driven to this location, and were escorted onto the property, behind a large, metal door. We were perplexed as The young, staff person, lead us by the... More

The property is stunningly beautiful. The host was really kind and showed us around the property which is truly breathtaking. The home is beautiful decorated by various paintings and sculptures made by the owner. The room was huge, cosy and aesthetically done. The bathroom and changing room were the highlight, sheer luxury. No aircon though. However, overall experience was nice... More

We really enjoyed our stay surrounded by art & with a great view over the Pacific. It was great to just relax on the balcony. It was really nice to be in Barranco rather than Miraflores too as it is nice just walk around the area with the cafes, bars & restaurants. The staff were very helpful & it was... More

I stayed in Room #1 with garden view, felt thrown back to another century as the daughter of a wealthy family with a room in a traditional home with private balcony for greeting suitors. The hotel is decorated with the paintings and sculptures of the well-known Peruvian artist Victor Delfin and the establishment is run by his daughter. Barranco is... More

Located in Lima's Barranco District, the artistic, bohemian section of ununwieldy Lima, Second HomePeru was a find! The area itself is charming and full or close enough to great restaurants leading the Lima foodie scene, and the location of numerous, galleries, studios and various articistic shops, also close the beach. Not so close to the airport, but you wouldn't want... More

Barranco is a slightly up-market arty location further south from central Lima Miraflores and with views right over the beach (well, it sits above the cliff and the motorway that lies between the hotel and the beach). Inside the hotel, it feels like sleeping in an art gallery, as the owner is a famous Peruvian painter and sculptor (Victor Delfin).... More

A charming hotel tucked away in a quiet section of Barranco. Offering AMAZING views of the Pacific ocean. Lots and lots of character, owned by a former sculptor. Loved the mirrors, good breakfast. Would recommend for those wanting something different, creative and classy.

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our Peru vacation. We agree with the reviewer who said this could be a destination in itself (more below). We strongly disagree with the reviewer who commented on the poor service (more below as well). Second Home Peru is the home of Victor Delfin, a renowned Peruvian artist. My wife and... More
