I did not stay at the hotel, but just went to it's bar. The bar is quite nice and is the original Peruvian home of the pisco sour, a rather unique mixed drink that is the national drink. They even have a national day for the pisco sour. Not kidding. The bar pays homage to the pisco sour creator with... More

I haven't stayed at this hotel, but I'd like to recommend the bar of this place. It is one of those places that remind you of the days that are long gone. Heavy wooden table & chairs, and nice wood work on the walls also. They claim to have invented Picso Sour, and their Pisco is indeed delicious, and also... More

We stayed here one night at the end of a Geckos tour. Turned out when we got there that Geckos hadn’t actually booked us a room, but the poor reception girl (who hardly spoke English) made a number of phone calls to find us someone from the Geckos local office who could help us and we were eventually able to... I stayed here as part of a tour group and found the hotel more than adequate for the short stay before exploring the rest of Peru. The rooms are large, you get some street noise. It is just one block away from Plaza de Armas. The breakfast room is enormous, breakfast itself was rather basic. The reception was also huge... More

We only stayed here one night because our tour misguided us to stay here. It seems as if the owners have not invested any money into this hotel in 40 years but claiming cash through its location directly around the corner from the historical centre. Apparently this hotel has the bar tender who invented Pisco sours, but it tasted none... More

Maury Hotel Suituiated in the old city of Lima. This gem is the home of Pisco Sour. The hotel is a tad tied and hasn't been renovated since it was opened or appears that way. The rooms are a good size clean with an unfortunate odor, the walls and curtains are grubby. Hot water takes around 10 minutes to arrive,... More

I cant say much more then what people are staying is true. However you pay for what you get . The hot water dose take about 10 minutes to work. We rang and they just said let the water ran it will get hot. And yes it did. One of the best hot shower I have had while away. The... More

We stayed ere for the first 2 nights of our tour. Staff at reception barely spoke English. Breakfast was horrendous. 2 days in a row...coffee essence...not nice. You could provide a simpler brekkie for nicer! Also the worst part of our stay was when we requested a larger map of town which we were given an A4 copy of, took... More

Great cozy bar located at the Hotel Maury in downtown Lima, Pisco Sour is one of the best you can find in town, this is the bar were Pisco Sour was invented. Walking distance from Main Square, old fashioned bar with great service, definitely worth to try if you are around.

It was not by choice that we stayed at his hotel, it was part of our tour but I would recommend against it. It is very old and that is starting to show. For the first two days there was no hot water in the hotel, and after 27hours of travel this did not go down well. When we enquired... More
