I had to stop over in Lima for the night on my way to Iquitos and decided to booked with Casa Ana. They were extremely quick in responding to my emails and even sent out a confirmation email several days before my flight. I arranged for their pickup service because I didn't want to deal with finding my way to... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Casa Ana is a pleasant, helpful, low cost bed and breakfast for backpackers in central Lima, Peru. It is run by Ana and her daughter Angie. His son Harold also help occasionally. Casa Ana is a Joho Center Partner. Ana, with the help of Hein, is also involved in a number of small humanitarian projects, such as: 1. Financing treatment of children with burns in the Hospital del Nino (Children's Hospital), one block away from Casa Ana. She also gives guidance to these children and parents. These children come from disadvantaged families. 2. Financing education of disadvantaged children from poor families. 3. Occasional construction of simple houses for extremely poor families. Recently construction was finished for the family of Elizabeth Torres. We know Elizabeth already for years as one of our patients with burns (which she got when the family's old shack burnt down). Last year Elizabeth successfully finished highschool and her series of surgical treatments and left for the Argentine to work there. Ana runs the B&B together with Angie. Ana is a midwife by profession and dedicates most of her time to the projects and to Casa Ana. Angie also graduated as a midwife. Not so long ago she worked in beautiful Leymebamba-Chachapoyas as a midwife and as a teacher. She handles reservations, welcomes guests and assists them in all sorts of matters that may come up. Harold is an Electronic Engineer working for COLP, a subsidiary of Hunt Oil Company. ... more   less
