We spent a number of days in this old-fashioned hotel in the "Centro Istorico" of Lima. Clean rooms, with TV, very friendly personnel (help with taxis etc.). No traffic in the street, so very quiet at night. Taxi drivers may have problems finding it.

Very basic, no breakfast, too expensive for bed and warm shower. Very old computer is available for internet use, but it is so old that you'd prefer to go to an internet cafe. There is really nothing special in this place, i stayed one night as it is close to the central plaza. Would recommend to look for places with... More

We stayed here for three nights. It was nice to be close to the Plaza Mayor during the World Cup, since they played the games on a large screen there. The hostel is in the printing district of town. It is on a relatively quiet street, which meant walking over a few blocks to catch a cab. It was interesting... More

We liked the Roma's central location, it's faded beauty, its 24-hour hot water, and the delicious coffee. The breakfast itself was not good value. The rooms have transoms to let in air from the unroofed corridors, but they are dark and sparsely furnished, and if you want to sit and read, there is really no good place. The wifi works... More

Hostal Roma is located in central Lima so if you are looking for this location it is a good, basic choice. For the cheap price, you get what you pay for. The courtyard was cute (opens to the sky, lots of plants) but the rooms were very basic. We had enough space and the bathroom was clean, but the beds... More

I picked this place because of its central location. Due to the low price I wasn't expecting much, but the place managed to disappoint even the lowest expectations. I understand the concept of "basic" rooms, but how anyone could describe this place as clean (Lonely Planet) is beyond me. There was hair of what appeared to be 2 different people... More

I booked this hostal via email prior to my stay and they arranged to have me picked up from the airport on a late night arrival. Errol Branca was there on time and waiting. The rooms are rather basic and as noted in a prior review, there was no windows only a large skylight. Central Lima is in walking distance,... More

My Girlfriend and I stayed at Hostal Roma for a couple of nights on a way to Cuzco for the Inca Trail. Recommendations had been to stay ´down town´ Lima if you only had a couple of days and this hostal was ideal. Miraflores is just to far out to really experience Lima and the down town area is not... I lived this hostal for one night. The bed is okay, but the room does not smell good. I paid $20 for double bed, I might just get what I paid for the room. However this hostal charges a lot for other things. 1) $17 for airport pickup, another $17 to transfer to airport. The taxi cost is ~$8, I... More

Our family of five stay in Hostal Roma for one night even we planned to stay for more. Our previous accommodation in Quito helped to book this accommodation for us. We were told that price in the web, 32 USD, was wrong and it was 40 USD but this was agreed to 35 USD during the call. Ok. We asked... More
