I had a few days free before a conference in Lima and booked the 4 day/3 night-long birdwatching tour, which turned out to be even better than I had anticipated. My guide was Moises Chavez, who has spent much of his life in the Amazon of northern Peru and who was incredibly good at spotting and pointing out the many... More

We - 4 adults and 2 kids aged 11 and 9 - spent 5 days, 4 nights at Muyuna and the experience was fantastic. We had booked through a travel agent who scheduled a bird watching trip for us, and we realized that with the kids we would prefer to do something more active. The Lodge administration, and our AMAZING... More

We spent 3 days and 2 nights in late July at the Muyuna Lodge on the Yanayaku river, a tributary of the Amazon upriver from Iquitos and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The four children in our group (one 17-yr old girl and 3 boys ranging from 13 to 15) all said that those 3 days may be the best part... More

We were very pleased with our adventure. It is a good bang for the buck. We took a speedboat with a roof to the lodge. They provided ear covers which were great. It took 3 hours. Upon arrival we were given a welcome juice and introduced to our guide. We had our own guide for our group of 4. We... More

Do not go during before June, and August/September is the best time to go. If you go in April/May, you'll have to wear a mosquito net at all times. This is a great place to visit with incredible guides. If there's something you really want to do, just talk to them, and they'll adjust your jungle plans accordingly (ex. I... More

I was skeptical about going to the jungle after reading horrible reviews about spiders in rooms. I can honestly say that Muyuna lodge exceeded my expectations. Not only was the room clean and comfortable in a beautiful setting but the tours were also incredible. There was a great balance of activities and downtime (to enjoy the hammocks). I highly recommend... More

We did the 5 days (4 nights) stay and I wish I could have stayed longer! We had a wonderful stay! The staff at the lodge was very professional, friendly and helpful. Our private guide Armando has lived his entire life in the Amazon and knew so incredibly much about all the animals, trees, etc. We learned so much from... More

Our visit to the Muyuna Lodge was wonderful..the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. The guides were great. We hired our own guide so it was just the 3 of us on our excursions. Julio and Luis were awesome. The food at the lodge was amazing and the rooms and common areas very clean. Swimming with the dolphins was a... More

The Muyuna staff are very professional, friendly and helpful, the lodge itself fits perfectly in the environment (having been built by the local people), and the excursions are well-planned and various with excellent multi-lingual guides and local boat drivers. They now have solar-powered LED lights in all the rooms. The days are full from pre-dawn to after dark, but still... More
