I am a 20 year old white female from Canada who decided one day to go to the Amazon, alone. Amazonia met me at the airport and my personal guide entertained me for the afternoon in Iquitos and for the following week at the lodge. Upon arrival in the jungle I fell ill from the airplane food. They were very... more

The lodge itself deserves five stars once you have accepted the limitations, including the lack of electricity and only having lake water for your showers. The lodge staff are attentive, the food is well prepared, and any needs are addressed quickly and efficiently. Meals are consistently served when they are expected, which is typically 8 am, 1230 or 1 pm... more

We stayed at the lodge for 10 days, end of august..Very happy with our choice.. The trip was flawless, from Iquitos airport (we were picked up by somebody from their office), back to Iquitos airport, after 10 days. Lodge is ~4 hours from Iquitos by speedboat. There is no need of hot water after 2-3 hours of hiking at 30... more

My dad and I spent 8 night/9 days here in the jungle. This company should win an award for customer service! Our trip was flawless, from the landing in the airport in Lima to returning to the office after our time at the lodge. The guides are excellent and it truely goes at a speed you want it to go.... more

My husband and I are travel writers and photographers and have traveled to over 100 countries on seven continents since 9/11. We agree that our two weeks here was the BEST trip we've ever taken - first and foremost because we had a private guide who was absolutely wonderful, every day he'd work with us to determine the activity we... more

This Place is AWESOM! This was my second trip to the Tahuayo Lodge, 10 years apart. It was even more wonderful this most recent visit. I had a severe injury (broken back) the day before I left for the Amazon... I was treated like royalty by the staff and they took every measure to see that I did not feel... more

This is a gem, great staff and a location right in the middle of the pristine rainforest, but with just enough luxury to make it comfortable. I've stayed with Explorama, which is also good, but this lodge is the best. Full-time professional guides are 1st rate. Going back again soon. I'd also recommend staying and extra day or 2 in... more

If you want an amazing experience in the Amazon Rainforest, you can't do better than the Tahuayo Lodge of Amazonia Expeditions. The staff is excellent, with great guides who cater to individual interests and needs. The food is wonderful, and the activities are many and varied: canopy zip-lines, jungle camping trips, fishing, jungle trails, marvelous fauna and flora, night excursions,... more

I had the pleasure of staying at the Tahuayo Lodge. I can honestly say that they were my favorite part of my 2 week tour of Peru. This stop isn't for everybody and the last review from "Detriot" I found to be very accurate. If your looking for an adventure vacation and don't mind giving up some basic ammenities like... more

Tahuayo Lodge is quite different from any other hotel that I have stayed in. It offers the advantage of providing good housing in the middle of the Amazonia jungle. But it certainly isn’t a luxury location. Here is a description of the amenities, so you can decide if this jungle lodge is for you: •Electricity: There is none available, except... more
