I spent 3 days here and enjoyed my time immensely. The owner, Cato left the place in the capable hands of volunteers Michelle and Robin, cook Clara, Walter and Rudopho. Together with long term guest Dale, I was well looked after with their warm hospitality. There are a few straw roofed cabins, 2 directly beside the boat dock If a sparse... More

San Pedro lodge is about 45 minutes by boat from the centre of Iquitos, and about 30-35 minutes by boat and taxi to the airport. The place is wonderful! Don't expect luxury at this place, but Cato, the volunteers and the 2-3 people from the nearby village that work there will certainly look after you. The food provided at lunch... More

My good friend and I stayed at San Pedro and we had the most amazing time there! Cato, the owner, and the staff were so helpful and welcoming, we didn't want to leave the lodge! Their tours were amazing and we were able to see and do everything we wanted to in Iquitos. I highly recommend staying here, the lodge... More

My spouse and I spent a week in the Sacred Valley, time in Lima and a week at San Pedro Lodge. Our time at the lodge was by far the most enjoyable. The Lodge is owned by a laid back Norweigan dude who goes out of his way to ensure guests are able to see and do what they want,... More

This is a no-brainer, really. If you're staying in Iquitos, just go to the San Pedro lodge. Accommodation, food, reception and knowledge of the guides is all superb as long as you're ok with a bit of a camping vibe. We did most of the organized trips, which bring you into direct contact with local initiatives to preserve the area... More

We just got back from our second stay at San Pedro Lodge with our 4 kids. Everything is taken care of from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave- airport pick up/drop off, meals, tours. It is on the river so the kids can swim anytime they want. It is a true Amazon rainforest experience and an amazing... More

My friend and I stayed at San Pedro Lodge as part of a larger trip through Peru a few weeks ago and can say that this was definitely one of the best decisions we made on the entire trip. We arrived in Iquitos without much of an itinerary, having just come from a grueling 4 days on the Incan Trail,... More

Now, this is where you HAVE to go if you wish to experience the Amazon rainforest area, but you do not have the time or money to go very deeply into the jungle. The indigenous staff are helpful and kind, the cook prepares generous and delicious meals. Very basic but comfortable. You will be left alone, if you like. You... More

Cool lodge experience. Expect primitive and remote. Everything went smoothly for us. Quite primitive. 30 minutes by taxi, then 30 minutes by boat, then 30 minutes walk (eliminate the walk and add more boat time when the waters are higher). There is electricity for most of the day with a place to charge in the dining room. Otherwise the rooms... More
